I've been playing bass since 2003, tackling everything from metal to jazz to chamber orchestral & band music. When teaching bass, I like to cover as many areas as I can to ensure my students are as well-rounded as they would like to be (& then some). We will discuss proper bass techniques, writing walking bass lines, reading chord changes, how to achieve good bass tones & gear, etc.

Classical music is the foundation for everything else!
I have been teaching piano for over 40 years, full-time for the past 15. Besides the actual repertoire, technique and theory are always included in my lessons because they are essential. Sight reading and ear training are also included in some lessons.
I stress accuracy in playing and attention to details! I also teach my students HOW to practice. Slow, accurate practice is the answer. Practicing takes patience!
Please note: Home lessons must be at a location that I can get to easily with public transportation. I do not have a car.
I started to study the piano at the age of seven with Hrant Minassian in my hometown of Island Park, New York. During high school I continued my studies with Jack Chaikin , a graduate of the Juilliard School. I attended Hofstra University where I received a B.A. in Music in 1979. At Hofstra, my pia

Glynis is very adept at tailoring her teaching methods to what I need on that particular day. Sometimes I haven't had a chance to practice as much as I'd like, and she is very patient, helping me based on where I am in that moment. When I do have the time to work more diligently on a piece, she listens thoughtfully, praising the good parts and offering gentle suggestions on how I could improve. She sometimes will paint visual pictures for me of how the music should sound ("make it sound like children running through a meadow"), which is silly but also useful! Glynis knows how to bring out the best in my playing, and shows genuine enthusiasm when I master something hard. My playing has dramatically improved over the past few months, and I've really enjoyed spending time with Glynis at the piano.
I'd recommend Glynis to any adult looking to improve their piano skills. She is absolutely fantastic."
He is a sincere and wholehearted person. His teaching method is really easy to understand for my little daughter. She has improved a lot thanks to his great lessons. I do appreciate his hard work and patience."
Do you have a need for speed? Below, piano teacher Ryan C. shares some piano finger exercises that will help you increase speed when playing the piano... What makes a great pianist fun to watch? Is it his or her sense of musicality and his or her ability to play gorgeous music with apparent ease? I think both. However, there is another skill that really makes a pianist great…speed! Have you ever watched an amazing pianist play ridiculously fast and wondered to yourself: “Ho …
