Hello, my name is Jessi and I'd love to help you build confidence in your violin playing in a friendly, nurturing environment! You'll find a fun-spirited, open-minded teacher in me. I have four years of teaching experience, and I studied Music Performance and Theory at the University of Texas at Arlington. My performance experience spans from years of quartets and orchestras to live-and-loud rock shows to campfire improv jam sessions. We will custom-tailor our lessons depending on your focus. If you don't have one yet, we'll figure that out, too. I enjoy students of all ages (I love adults just beginning!) and I am accepting BEGINNER and INTERMEDIATE students.
My greatest desire is that I will instill in each of my students the love I have for making music. I am a classically-trained violinist. I grew up in Lodz, Poland, where I began musical education at the age of 7. I studied violin and piano at the Music High School and Music Academy of K.&G. Bacewicz, Lodz, Poland and earned a Master Degree in violin performance in 1980. During his College years I started to perform with the Symphony Orchestra of Polish Radio and Television. From the mid – 70s until the early 1990s, I performed with several Polish orchestras and held a position as a violin teacher for four years at the College of Education in Slupsk, Poland. Currently enrolled in the University of Michigan Ann Arbor Major in Biology and Minor in Violin Performance Have been teaching since 2009. Experienced with teaching kids. Studied under Kenneth Goldsmith at Rice University Studied under David Halen (Concertmaster of St. Louis Symphony) Studied under Andrew Jennings at University of Michigan Ann Arbor I have learned a lot from them and I teach their styles.
I have been private instruction for over 25 years throughout southeast Michigan with a period of time near Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition, I have founded, instructed and conducted multiple orchestras to award winning statuses! I also have been an early childhood teacher for many years and offer tutoring for 3-9 year old children.
