Sean R.

Lowell, MA

About Sean

In the 20 years I've been playing guitar and drums, I've done quite a bit. In the past, I toured quite extensively with my band, playing with the likes of All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, blessthefall, Alesana, Soulfly and many others (for all you metal and post hardcore fans). I've been teaching independently since 2002 and with music store affiliation since 2006. I've also played countless corporate events and weddings as a pickup musician with Murray Hill Talent in Boston. As the experience piles on, so do the real world inspired lessons and tips. *** Lesson Details *** First lessons are highly variable depending on a students experience. If you've never played an instrument before, expect the first day to be a lot of talking. While there will be plenty to take in, it won't be ...

Ian C.

Peabody, MA

About Ian

First, some exciting news! I just became a part of takelessons online lesson program, and now I can teach students from anywhere in the country! But I digress... Let's see, first and foremost I'm a music lover of the highest order. Whether it's jazz, rock, indie, classical, hip-hop or country, if it's good music, I love it. I grew up obsessively listening to everything i could get my hands on, and began playing guitar at the age of 11. That was cut short, though, when the next year I almost lost my middle finger on my left hand in an ice skating incident. It took 5 years for me to regain the strength and motion, during which time I was forced to give up guitar playing altogether. I never lost my passion for music, though, and in my heart i never stopped dreaming about what it ...

Great teacher and nice guy!

I started singing lessons as a complete beginner, although I am in my 30s. Ian was happy to teach me the basics and then we dove right in to something I was interested in learning to sing. He was easy to talk to and encouraging, but willing to point out what I could improve as well. I would recommend him to others.

Awesome teacher!!!

Took a couple singing lessons in the past with a different teacher and I didn't get very far. Ian has a great teaching style and I can already hear a difference in my singing just in the first few weeks of lessons. He is very encouraging, especially for a beginner like me. His constructive criticism is equally helpful. Highly recommended.

Fantastic, Genre Diverse Vocal Teacher

In addition to thoroughly addressing all of the issues that initially spurned my desire for vocal lessons, we also examined and exercised other critical areas that he brought to my attention, and laid a strong foundation for singing technique.

Robert M.

Exeter, NH

About Robert

Robert's exemplary and diverse career all began when he was a very small boy. His magical, musical journey began with his Grandfather, Donald Mcullick, a country singer/guitarist, who spent the 1950's touring and performing with blockbuster artists such as Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison. Grandpa would take his young protégé out to the swing under the apple tree in the backyard and show him songs on an old acoustic guitar. He would later give that guitar to Robert. That guitar was the key to the music box of Robert's life. A life long dedicated to the art and craft of music. Robert's high school years were very non-traditional. While most students spent time at football games and pep rallies, Robert spent his time performing in pit orchestras and composing for local theater ...

My three granddaughters and I are taking lessons with Ben. I asked each of the girls to give me three words about Ben and we all agreed. He is patient, fun and funny and, they added, "I really like him and he knows a lot about teaching and playing the piano." I was a teacher and professor for many years, and I know good teaching when I see it. Ben is a very good teacher. Not only is he patient and at ease with his students, he seems always to be aware of each of them and able to respond to their needs. I'm impressed and feel fortunate to have found someone who is also responsible and reliable, and takes his work seriously. It is a great pleasure to work with Ben and we all look forward to our weekly lesson.

Top notch teacher

My son has been taking lessons from Ben now for a little over a month. I cannot say enough about the professionalism and reliability of Ben. I figured it would take a lot to keep a 16 year old boy who is a beginner totally interested in piano but Ben has managed to do just that. My son actually looks forward to his weekly lessons and practices without hesitation and I can only attribute that to the teaching techniques of Ben. If anyone is contemplating on choosing Ben for their or their child's instructor, hesitate no further. He is one of the best.
