About Artesia

Hi, there! My name is Artesia and I can't wait to meet you!

I've been teaching private lessons since 2012 and have loved helping my students understand the basics of sewing, explore their inner designer and overall become more confident with sewing. I went to Spelman College and earned a degree in Mathematics in 2006 but I am currently attending the Savannah College of Art and Design to earn a degree in Fashion Design.

In March 2014, I was a RAW featured artist showcasing handmade accessories, pillowcases and pillows. The following month I received the Most Creative award at the EcoFab
Trash Couture Recycled Runway for a garment created from everyday usable items. I have participated in the Summer Intensive Studies program at Parson’s in New York, NY and excelled in the sewing instruction from middle school to college.

I am a nurturing and fun person and my teaching style is student centered, facilitated to meet the level of the student, and slow paced. I look forward to helping you reach your creative sewing goals and explore your inner designer.

I live in Kennesaw, GA and I am readily available to commute to your home. Online tutoring sessions is an option as well.

I am confident that I can be a strong mentor for your student and hope that we will enjoy our tutoring sessions together.
