I Majored in Creative Writing in College and continue to practice it every day. It's not necessarily a subject that can be "Mastered" (in my opinion), as creativity is an infinite and uncapped flow. Anyone can write from childhood to their deathbed. It the purest form of expression and it's my first love. I use it while writing songs for performing artists in Los Angeles, but that's only one of many doors that an understanding of creative writing can open!

About Amy

I’m a professional singer-songwriter, performing and recording artist. I signed my first publishing deal in Los Angeles in 2004 and spent three years studying music at the Biola Conservatory of Music. Since 2010 I have been tutoring college students mostly on Principles of Finance, both the Bachelor and Master's degree levels. I usually help them do the homeworks, quizzes and prepare for exams. But perhaps the main thing I do for them is to help them understand finance and what is being taught by the professor. I use my expertise (see my licenses in my profile) and experience to help them see how finance works in real life and how it relates to the not-so-realistic academic environment. One thing is to read and imagine and another is to have done it and lived it; that's what I provide. I also, occasionally, help students with extra credit or special written assignments, such as retirement extra credits, CapStone quizzes and CAPSIM simulations, which are not only finance-related but require business experience.

"I took tutorials on general chemistry with Dr. Alan for one term. He always went extra miles to make sure that I was prepared for my tutorial sessions by sending me enrichment materials on topics that were covered in my class beforehand. He accommodated my learning style and was able to provide supplemental lectures as I requested, which I appreciate tremendously. He was also always very prompt in responding to my emails. He doesn't always provide direct answers when you ask questions, but provides guidance in a way that makes you think -I believe this is essential in learning. I would recommend tutorials with Dr. Alan if you are keen on learning and truly want to comprehend your subjects of interest well."

"TAMAR IS A GEM

Tamar is a gem!

I have been working with her for the past year and she has helped me completely transform my academic situation.

I am a freshman in high school who struggles with ADHD. Tamar's patience and diligence is completely unsurpassed. She goes above and beyond to ensure that I am not only doing my work, but she breaks down the material for me in such a way that it is easy to understand. Tamar puts in hours of her own time to create tests and study guides which has helped give me the extra advantage i need. I recommend her to anyone. She is by far one of the best tutors and individuals ever."
