Even a basic understanding of music theory will open up a whole new pallet of colors to choose from as an artist.

About Mike

I am a music supervisor/ coordinator for film and TV. Since the quarantine has put a hold on the productions I'm working on, I have time to pick up a few students online! I graduated from Penn State with a bachelors of music in double bass performance. When the corona virus started shutting everyt

Mike is a gem and true natural when it comes to music education. His passion for music, patience, charismatic personality, and lifelong devotion to learning really shines through during his lessons with my son. In fact, my son enjoyed his weekly music lessons with Mike so much that we booked time for years to come. Finding an instructor like Mike is rare, and I’m excited to have him help grow my son’s musical knowledge in a very accessible way through FaceTime, SO easy! Within a few short lessons my son was already walking around the house singing and playing the guitar like a young troubadour.

Mike is such a patient, engaging, kind teacher, and has kept my six-year-old son busy via FaceTime one hour/week learning the basics of music. Knowing that my son is engaged and learning with a great teacher has been invaluable to me as a working mom, especially during the current quarantine, but I plan to have my son continue taking lessons because of how much he's learning and enjoying his lessons. Mike engages my son by incorporating subjects that interest him - like Super Mario Bros. - into his lessons. I can't recommend him highly enough!

I like to show my students how the guitar can be a small orchestra. The possibilities of sounds and colors that it can provide is unknown to other instruments and that is what makes it so great. Unlike the piano where a small hammer hits the strings or the violin where the bow frictions them, we have to produce the entire sound on the guitar with our own hands. The process is more personal and, even though it can be harsh at times, it is always satisfying. I also try to bring a more creative part of music when studying the instrument, which keeps classes more dynamic and interesting. I bring my own experiences so that the students can relate in different levels of difficulty.

About Hugo

I'm a professional guitarist, composer and arranger. I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Diploma in Professional Music. I started playing electric guitar and then expanded also to the classical guitar, which has broaden extensively my approach to different styles of music. Each styl

Hugo is a very patient teacher and has a lot of musical knowledge to pass along. I went to my first lesson with him without knowing anything about music or the guitar and now I already feel some confidence talking about the subject. He gradually deepens the subject and always makes sure you understood before going forward. I super recommend him!

Hugo is one of a kind. Great teacher and an amazing human being! Took lessons with him back in Boston while he was still studying at the prestigious Berklee College of Music and it couldn't have been better. Improved my repertoire and my technique meanly when it comes to fingerstyle. Highly recommended!

Thanks for visiting my page!
I've been playing the saxophone, among other instruments professionally for a number of years in New Orleans and Nashville. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Jazz Studies from Louisiana State University, where I also studied classical music and theory extensively.
I can help beginners to build a solid foundation on the saxophone. For more advanced players, the lessons will be tailored to your specific interest and experience level.
I look forward to working with you!

I am a well-rounded drum teacher, meaning I have learned and studied genres ranging from blues, jazz, rock and indie rock. I will give you tons of music to listen to and interpret and teach you how to learn tunes by ear. You will understand the forms of jazz tunes such as aaba Aba and abc. You will learn how to play the tunes you listen to and take the concepts of drum beats and drum rudiments used within them o make them your own and use them in your original playing. I also teach how to read standard drum notation, and can teach you how time signatures work and the values of notes if you don’t already know.

About Eli

Hi future students! I’m Eli. I know how tough it is to teach yourself an instrument, because I struggled with it for years and years. One of my biggest issues was learning how to practice, so if that’s something you struggle with, I can certainly help you develop a routine to which you would follow

After his first session, my son (10 years old) said Eli was, "really nice." They reviewed a lot, Eli asked a lot of questions about previous experiences and and listened to him play. Sounds like it was a packed session but not overwhelming.

He continually challenged her and is very open about areas to improve. When we needed someone to help her with college audition prep, we went straight to Adam. He is great with young kids and teenagers. We highly recommend him! In fact, I have recommended him to several people who all also think he is great."

"Having Michael teach my son (who is 10) has been one of the best decisions I've made. He is laid back enough to put him at ease and make learning fun, yet he is very professional and mature with his organization, structure, communication, etc. At the end of the day, the success I've seen my son have with him in learning the guitar speaks volumes. I can't say enough good things about him. Thank you, Michael!"

How to Build the Perfect Drum Practice Routine

You have to practice drums if you want to improve, but how can you make your practice time more productive? Here, Rosendale NY drum instructor Alan S. shares his strategy to help you create an effective drum practice routine... Progress does not always happen in a straight line. During my years playing drums, I've been through periods of quick improvement, as well as darker times of actually getting worse. I've also been through phases of staying at the same level: In my case, instead of …
