I have been teaching for 7 years, and I enjoy helping my students be the best they can be! I help my students find their areas of interest, and then we are able to focus on those areas. I also put an emphasis on learning basic theory. I have a variety of excellent books that I will recommend, but we can also work with some of the books that the student may already own.

About Monica

I got married in October 2019, and now my husband and I work at a private Christian academy in Sanford, ME. I enjoy playing piano and singing in my free time, and I love working with kids and sharing my love of music.

My 7 year old daughter loves being able to take lessons from Monica through FaceTime! She has progressed really well in just a couple of months of doing lessons and is choosing to practice on her own. She has developed a joy for hymns and classical pieces. Monica works wonderfully with her and makes sure she understands what she needs to work on for her next lesson and always makes sure she doesn’t have any questions. Monica encourages her to do her best and push herself.

My daughter has been taking piano lessons with Monica for about 5 years. Monica started out teaching lessons to her at our home and now my daughter is currently taking lessons online. Monica is a wonderful teacher. Her patient attitude puts her students at ease. The convenience of taking online lessons works well for our schedule. I don't have to drive my daughter anywhere. It doesn't matter what the weather is, lesson doesn't have to be canceled. This has been a wonderful experience for us and we highly recommend Monica as a piano teacher.

Dave is very good with younger children. My 6yr old son loves his Guitar lessons with Dave. I was a little skeptical when I started as I was not so sure how much my son would enjoy the lessons, but it has been very good. I would strongly recommend Dave.

I focus on ear training, finger technique, and chordal harmony so that students learn the basics of musical grammar and music theory.

Theory is just how we describe what we hear and play, but giving it a name allows us to remember and describe what we hear and play.

The piano is so expressive and can be so individualized for each person. We learn from the greats that have come before, but also do ear training and rhythmic work so that you have the foundation of basic music competence and skills that you need to learn more and create your own music.

About Amy

I am the great-granddaughter of a musician who used to play with Ella Fitzgerald and Benny Goodman in NYC in the 1930s and 40s! I believe every person has the right to be musically fluent, and to have music available to them as a tool for self expression, emotional expression, stress relief, and

Even though,my principal mode of expression in music will always be the North Indian classical percussion 'tabla', I have been very fortunate to have been able to do my undergrad and Masters in Music from SOAS,University of London and Berklee College of Music respectively. All of this musical exposure has not only helped in expressing myself using those other musical influences but it has also helped me in being able to communicate as a tutor more effectively.

I firmly believe that it is absolutely essential to get the basics right before moving/rushing on to anything further. i encourage my students to question things rather than simply to follow and reproduce. Since Indian Classical music is an oral tradition, it is important to recite the rhythmic phrases/syllables vocally before learning how to reproduce them on the instrument.  Teaching is a process in which both the student and the teacher can learn as opposed to just a one-way process. Mutual understanding is necessary to ...

About Dhruv

I have been playing the tabla since I was six years old. I received his Bachelor's in Music Studies from SOAS, University of London, where i gained exposure to the different music cultures of the world. After that, I went on to complete his Master's in Contemporary Studio Performance from Berklee

Whether you want to play bass guitar on stage like a rock star or get funky like Bootsy Collins, I got you covered. I have over 10 years performing experience and 4 years of teaching students in various genres/styles of music. What makes my lesson style unique is that I ensure all of my students regardless of age or playing level are performance ready. You ask what is "performance ready?" This means as a student you will not only learn how to play your instrument well, but in addition will be taught how to operate your instrument, amps, and effect pedals. Your knowledge of sound and tone quality is essential to your success as musician. In turn, this allows you to properly convey your message as an artist to your audience. When it come to lessons, I customize my lesson plans according to the students goals. My goal as an instructor is to ensure that my students leave each lesson feeling accomplished, motivated, and that they've had fun in the process.
