I am the member of MTAC and prepare students for the California Certificate of Merit. My teaching philosophy is based in the belief that learning music should be fun and exciting! I always encourage my students to pursue the kind of music that they find most appealing, rather than using the same curriculum and method book. I teach private lessons and have had the experience of working with hundreds of students ranging from beginners with no experience to advanced players. I go to my students In all over Orange county and Corona.
*** Lesson Details *** Fun and patient piano teacher with more than 15 years of experience.
I am 70 and recently started learning to play piano with Minoo -- she is simply the very best teacher you could get! Already, she has me playing with two hands multiple songs and without looking at the keyboard! You will be amazed and grateful to have her as your teacher. She has me wanting to and happy to practice.

Minoo has taught me so much more than any piano instructor I ever had and she did it in only a few lessons so far. She makes it fun and now I really like practicing ---something my previous instructors did not seem to inspire me to do.

Great first lesson for my daughter - who is almost 5. Can’t wait for next week.
Hi! I'm Dr. Jonathan Saraga; professional musician and educator living in New York City. I have been working as a trumpeter, composer, arranger, and studio musician for almost 2 decades and have been teaching full-time for the past 7, which includes nearly 3 at the University level. I have nearly 10 years of conservatory training, a Bachelor, Master and Doctorate degree, as well as over 20 years experience performing, recording, and competing on an international level.
I’ve been recognized internationally, by way of several organizations for excellence as a trumpeter and composer: 2007-Winner of International Trumpet Guild Jazz Trumpet Solo Competition; 2009-Finalist in Carmine Caruso International Jazz Trumpet Solo Competition; 2011- Selected Participant in School for Improvisational Music Intensive Program; 2014-Callback for the Juil
liard Artist Diploma program auditions; 2015-Selected Participant in Banff International Summer Intensive Program in Jazz and Creative Music ; 2016-Semi Finalist in International Songwriting Competition; 2016-Recipient of the ASCAP Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award; 2017-Honorable Mention and Finalist in International Songwriting Competition; 2016-19-Full Scholarship w/ Paid Assistantship/Instructorship for Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Colorado, Boulder; 2019-Selected Participant in Banff Early Fall Musicians in Residence program; 2019-Finalist in Chamber Music America’s New Jazz Works Grant Competition.
I perform and record as a featured musician with Festival of New Trumpet Music, having participated in two world premieres, and in ensembles led by highly acclaimed and/or Grammy-nominated/winning artists such as Steve Coleman, Henry Cole, Maria Schneider, Darcy James Argue, Orrin Evans, Josh Evans, Jimmy Greene, Tyshawn Sorey, Eric Bergen and the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra. I've performed at arenas, clubs, and concert halls alike, such as Carnegie Hall, The Putra World Tower, Symphony Space, the Barclay's Center, Dizzy's Club Coco-Cola, and Rockefeller Center to name only a few venues. As a leader, I've been performing original music all over NYC at known creative and jazz venues like Seeds, Cornelia St. Café, The Bar Next Door, Jazz at the Kitano, Shapeshifter Lab and Smalls Jazz Club, which Down Beat magazine considers to be two of the best jazz clubs in the world.
Besides professing a passion and skill-set for music within the ‘jazz’ idiom, my interest in and usage of sound draws from and many other forms of art. I've composed and arranged music for lyricists, improvised music for poetry readings at the Firehouse Space, and have provided musical accompaniment for dance classes, workshops, and performances presented by the Martha Graham Dance Academy and the Jeoffrey Ballet School. I've even co-choreographed short plays and have played for Marc Jacobs fashion runway shows.
My music also extends into the health and wellness community. I've served as a regular performer at the New Life Expo, and as a musical aid for art exhibitions (including a Syrian-post war realist art exhibition), Yoga classes at Jivamukti Jersey City, and meditation classes for WeWork, St. Peter's Church at the Citicorp Center, The Tibet House, Triskelion Arts the Firehouse Space, the Jewish Community Center, the New York Insight Meditation Center, and the NYU Skirball Theater.
As an educator, I have taught all-level/all-age group music playing and appreciation courses for several New York-based organizations: The Afro-Latin Jazz Academy, The Gramercy Brass Orchestra of New York, New York Ensemble Classes, the Lyceum Kennedy International School, Jubilee Enrichment Programs, Jazz Empowers and The New York Jazz Academy. I have also completed 6 semesters of service as a Graduate Part-Time Instructor at the University of Colorado, Boulder, where I taught multiple playing ensembles as well as three semesters of a 100+ student History of Jazz lecture class for non-majors.
I teach out of a my home apartment studio on the upper east side, complete with weighted 88-key digital piano, Bose high quality speakers, recording equipment, as well as musical media, and tablature spanning many musical genres, cultures and time periods. I also am equipped with a spacious floor space for Yoga, Pilates, Weight Lifting, Meditation, and more.
While I specialize in the following broad areas of musical study, my specialties are not limited to: General Music, Composition, Arranging, Ear Training, Music History (includes classical, jazz, and world musics), Music Theory, Sight Singing, and Songwriting. I also specialize in the following instruments: Trumpet, flugelhorn, and Piano/Keyboards.
Last but not least, while I have invested over 30,000 hours into my musical training, my interests, practices, and skill sets extend beyond sound and visual art, and into the realm of philosophy, science, physics and spirituality. I have been practicing various forms of fitness, meditation and Yoga for the past 5 years, and my studies span the gamut of psychology, philosophy, calisthenics, Astral Projection, Reiki, Vipassana Meditation, Visualization, and much more.
I believe and live by the idea that creativity is an energy that flows through us, and one's creative abilities can be improved and expanded, through the emotional body, which is influenced by one's perceptions. Throughout my training in music, the arts, as well as my physical, mental and spiritual pursuits, I have realized that discipline, creative flow, and love for what one is and what one does can come together and yield great fulfillment and sense of purpose.
I would highly recommend Jonathan as a music teacher. Jonathan is absolutely passionate about music, which is evident by his enthusiastic and energetic teaching techniques. He is very patient with my five year old and encourages her to get her very best effort. Jonathan customizes the music and lessons for my daughter’s skill level while at the same time provides challenges to keep the learning process interesting. In a short period of time, my daughter's keyboard playing abilities have dramatically increased. I am very grateful to Jonathan for making learning fun for my daughter, who always looks forward to her lessons!

Practicing with Vandi improves my skills more quickly than practicing alone and she is very good at not only answering questions via the internet tutoring but through phone as well. She is very prompt and consistent and provides easy to read materials for my skill level. I'm very happy with my purchase through Take Lessons so far. This is my first time using this website and it is my third lesson as I am new to piano. I have already recommended this site to other people.
For Spanish: My name is Carly and I am a Spanish teacher who has taught in private and public schools so I'm familiar with the curriculum that is offered there. I gained my first classroom teaching experience when I lived abroad in South Korea and taught English. I transferred all those skills here.
I have taught various subjects from fruits and animals to reading comprehension in the target language. I love teaching and love seeing my students progress. I will tailor the lessons to your needs and goals.
About My Studio Every person is different, from the way they look on the outside to the way they are constructed on the inside. Because of this, I have learned to be flexible when teaching students, knowing that what works for one student may not work for another. My goal in every voice lesson is to help you become a better you, whatever way fits YOU best. I enjoy many kind of musical styles, but I believe that having good technique is essential to singing in any style of music. In my audition and performance coaching sessions, I focus on more specific topics. I can help you prepare for a specific performance or audition, including finding and labeling sheet music, picking appropriate pieces and cuts, and working on your performance of selected pieces.
About Me I received a Bachelors of Music at the University of Mobile in 2017, wh
ere I studied Musical Theatre with emphasis in Vocal Performance. During that time I toured for one year with the group Voices of Mobile under the direction of Dr. Roger Breland, arranged and led music for other ensembles in the department, and performed in several productions. After graduating I have spent my time as a performer at both Universal Studios and Walt Disney World while singing as a volunteer vocal arranger with my church at the time, First Baptist Church of Windermere, FL. Since then, my husband and I have moved to the northern Alabama area to open up our schedule for new adventures.
Hi, there! My name is Jennifer and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2014 and have loved helping my students play by ear, learn to read music, and improvise pop songs. I went to Temple University in Philadelphia and earned a degree in music production. I'm a stress free and easy going person and my teaching style is catered to the student's interests, long term goals, and personality. I look forward to helping you reach your goals!
My teaching experience began while working as the music teacher at a day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities called SpArc Services in Philadelphia. I taught private piano, voice and guitar students through a studio called Philly Music Lessons for 2+ years. I also was the music teacher for the Lansdowne Presbyterian Pre-School in Pennsylvania.
I teach my students out of my comfortable home/studio in Van Nuys, but can teach online and travel to you. The regular styles I teach are: Pop, rock, RnB, improvisational piano, classical voice/piano.
Very good natured, and easy to take instruction from.
More suited to electric guitar enthusiasts, than acoustic players. I would recommend Jennifer.

I am a professional pianist. I have 2 years of teaching experience along with 7 years of performance experience. I teach piano to students ages 8 – 35. Beginner piano students will learn about basic techniques and music theory along with how to apply these elements to understanding and playing music. Students can expect to see improvement in their technique each week. I have been classically trained in piano for 14+ years. Through my teachings, I can help my students excel in sight reading through various exercises. Rudimentary knowledge of music theory such as, scales, chords, ear training and beginner level repertoire will be provided and/or recommended to my students. My philosophy is to become the best pianist you can be by having fun while learning music. As a pianist, I love playing other genres of music as well. However, I belie
ve in learning the basics of music theory to create a solid foundation in playing every genre of music. As your teacher, I would help you each step of the way to reach your goal and become a better pianist.
My name is Nazar, Concert Soloist and Orchestra Performer, Experience Long Time Teacher. Master Graduate from Moscow State Conservatory and postgraduate assistant ship program 1990-97 plus over 20 years of teaching experience with different age students. My teaching philosophy is to teach good technique and inspire students to explore cello and music in general either they choose to do professionally or casually. I believe the music changes people minds and lives.
I've been working with Nazar since 1998. Not only does he know his stuff and makes his teaching personal to your needs, but he also has a way to make you feel successful even when you are struggling. you always feel better about your playing when you leave than when you got to his studio. He recognizes your learning style and what you want to accomplish, then builds his teaching around that.
If you are looking for a cello teacher (and yes, he also teaches piano and other instruments) I'd say put your time and money into Nazar and you, you will feel it is one of your best investments
"Mike is a very knowledgeable and competent teacher! It is impossible to not learn and learn well from him."
"Mr. McCool is an excellent teacher! He just naturally shares his love for music with his students and this is a beautiful thing to experience. He is alw
ays patient and encouraging during our son's piano lessons. He is firm and serious when necessary but always friendly and kind. His teaching style is absolutely perfect for our 12 year old son who is motivated so much more by encouragement than by criticism. Stephen has a gift with children...he shows a sincere interest in what's going on in our son's life (they always have a little chat before his lesson begins). We are fortunate to have have found a wonderful music mentor for our son. I would highly recommend Mr. Stephen McCool to anyone interested in voice and/or piano lessons."
"Jason is an excellent teacher. He is very professional and easy to work with."

"I have been taking her group lessons on TL Live. She is my favorite teacher out of all of them."
"Very nice and patient."
"This lesson was for my 15 yo daughter. Kristen was very organized and got right to work discovering my daughter's range, teaching her how to breathe prope
rly, showing her warm-up exercises and singing a few songs they will be working on together. It was a very productive session and Kristen was very interested in keeping the lesson fun as well. A good balance of structure and play that challenges the student while keeping her engaged and eager to practice on her own. Great first lesson, and my daughter is looking forward to the next one!"
