I have a large studio in Utah but want to expand outside of the state. I lost ZERO students during the quarantine. Every student of mine who does music in college gets scholarships, are top chairs in their school bands, and win several contests a year. I teach students to play for LIFE. It is fun and extremely educational. Many drum teachers are 'dude bros.' I'm a total nerd who insures students actually progress when they implement my instruction.

About Stephen

I am a free lance percussionist and drummer! Some people say I'm the "nerd drummer" since I don't talk like I'm hitting the ski slopes! I'm from TN originally but moved to Utah and stayed here! I met my beautiful wife and enjoy teaching and performing music as a full time job! We are so happy and j

I have a background in fundamental rhythm, rather than teaching the student to simply play, I teach them to read and write their own rhythms and drum beats in a fun and hands-on manner using methods that music teachers around the country use in their classrooms. Furthermore, I have years of experience teaching children as young as 4 years old from their very first lesson. I’ve developed my own method for children to read drum music using simple and an easy to understand rhythmic language.

"I took up drums 2 years ago in my early 40's. Francisco was my first drum teacher, and he patiently introduced me to the instrument, exposed me to many different musical concepts and traditions, and really increased my interest in music and drumming. He is an amazing player, and I learned much from watching him play in lessons and also live. Unfortunately he moved from Boston to CA, which was my loss.I reccommend him without reservation."

"Excellent teacher--highly recommended

We are so glad we found Eric! After trying (and failing) with two other drum coaches who lacked a crucial requirement--in one case, depth of knowledge, and in another case, patience--my son has been taught by Eric for three years and has become an excellent drummer. Eric is highly knowledgeable, very patient, and a great communicator. He is the best music teacher we've found (and that includes three music teachers we used for another child, who took lessons for several instruments). Eric is also very knowledgeable about several other instruments. You cannot find a better music teacher than Eric!"

"When I say he is the best instructor ever, I mean that he is the BEST INSTRUCTOR EVER! I took lessons from a teacher closer to where I live, however, did not feel I was effectively learning. I decided to look in the Atlanta area for someone, thinking there would be more options. Casey came up so I decided to give him a try. The hour+ drive I take to get to him is 110% worth it. I have learned so much from him; he is incredibly talented and has the best teaching strategies...not to mention he is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. I look forward to continuing to work with him. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants to seriously learn to play drums."
