I am very critical of myself and use it to build constructive criticisms I can use to grow. I am hyper analytical, but can adjust to the seriousness of students. I enjoy seeing people grow at a rate they will be satisfied with as well as learning new ways to approach playing the horn.

About Scott

Hi! I'm Scott. I usually perform using a one-man band setup I created. I modified guitar and made foot pedals to control a drum set, while singing. I have a recording studio at home, and have performed with bands as a singer, guitarist, saxophonist, bassist, percussionist, and as a sound engineer.

I don't just teach students to read the notes and rhythms. Understanding theory, using technique, and creating from the inside out (internalize the meaning to produce sound) is necessary to really make music.

About Amy

I am passionate about music, playing the piano, and teaching. I currently study with a doctor of music in California, and I just completed a master's degree in church music. My goal is to give students all the tools they need to learn and understand music in a way that excites them to progress

Amy is an amazing teacher! I've studied piano under her both in person and online, and either way, she is excellent. She is always positive about what I can do, yet can point out ways to improve more. She listens to what I want to accomplish and finds various ways to incorporate what I want with what I need. She inspires me to want to do more than I thought I could do, and to always think bigger than the picture. My online piano lessons have become a highlight of my week, and something that I truly look forward to because I know that Amy will be excited to hear what I have worked on, and her enthusiasm further propels my motivation to excel.

"I am a retired opera singer that has studied with some of the best teachers and coaches in the world. Most of the year, my husband and I are in the South of France, but when in town, I still try stay sharp and perform at recitals. Asuka has introduced me to new singing techniques which have allowed me to preserve my voice at my age, while maintaining strength. It's really refreshing to learn new techniques that some of the older teachers don't know about. It has done a world of good as my voice doesn't get tired anymore."

"Grew up singing and didn't keep up in college. Decided to find a voice teacher to help me get back into healthy vocal practices and work on creating a vocal sound more specific to my ideal genres. Benjamin has been an extremely effective teacher for me and quickly identified some of the more vital pain points in how I typically sing. This being particularly relieving as I have had many voice coaches in the past, but none were able to identify these issues and I have experienced dramatic improvements ever since. If you are someone who prefers more technical or more casual styles of learning, I have found that Benjamin is comfortable communicating concepts in both styles of teaching and adjusts as necessary. He is also extremely responsive to the aims of his students and actively contextualizes the work to those aims. Very diligent regarding practical matters; easy to work around personal schedules and is active in confirming/scheduling lessons with students. Would recommend him to students of all styles & experiences."
