I try to make the lessons as fun and educational as possible. I split my lessons into three parts. Theory , Technique , and songs. I use my own curriculum that I have created after 20 years of research and proven teaching. All students are different so I create individual lesson plans for each student. I teach beginners and also intermediate and advanced blues, jazz, and pop. I would love to be your teacher!

For Music Theory, we start with the basics of note-reading and rhythm. As we progress, we learn various music symbols and terms, along with chords, scales, and how to compose harmonies.

I typically use Alfred's Essentials of Music Theory or Fundamentals of Piano Theory by Keith Snell for the theory workbooks. Both series of books do focus on piano as the basic instrument but all the information can be applied to just about any instrument.

About Donna

I have been teaching music for 21 years, both in private lesson and classroom settings. I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Shenandoah University & Conservatory and I have experience teaching all age groups, from age 3 through senior adults, and every age in between. I enjoy teachin

My special needs daughter has been taking piano and voice lessons for the past 5 years and we couldn’t have found a better instructor for her!!!! She’s patient, gentle, warm, kind, professional, courteous and always pleasant!!!! She’s very accommodating and understands my daughter’s strengths and deficits and challenges her accordingly!!! She is super organized and always on top of things whether it’s reminders, cancellations or make up classes...She’s very accessible and personable!!! She’s is an accomplished singer and pianist. She also teaches the flute and I have seen her students perform beautifully at recitals!!! She gives her students opportunities to perform to strengthen their confidence, performing skills and stage presence!!! I would highly recommend her any day!

Experienced music teacher of 7 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! While clarinet is my primary instrument I have a special attachment to the trumpet. My original clarinet teacher was in fact a trumpet player and is currently a section leader for one of the United States Air Force Bands. I have also given private lessons to 4 trumpet players - some of whom have gone on to do very well at the high school level.

About Michael

Michael graduated from the prestigious Music Education Program and Psychology Program at Ithaca College in 2012. Ithaca gave him the incredible opportunity to hone in on his musicianship and compositional skills. He was also able to discover a new medium of composition, film composition. Michael im

I have been studying voice since 1995 in England. I have a Doctorate and Masters in Opera Directing, and Bachelors in Vocal Performance and Theatre Arts. While receiving my degrees, I participated in operas and musicals as well as oratorios. I am a soprano, but I am familiar with all voice types. I believe that each person needs to discover their own voice, and I want to help you discover YOUR voice.

My background in directing and acting is helpful in assisting with role preparation, not just vocal technique.

About Jessica

Music and the arts have been a large part of my life since I was a child. I have performed in numerous operas, musicals and plays. Favorite roles include the Witch in Into the Woods, Agathe in Der Freischutz, the Countess in Marriage of Figaro, and Fastrada in Pippin. I have a degrees in Op

About Jason

I've always been attracted to music since I was a little kid. However, I started formally taking trumpet lessons around the age of 10. I would go on to be in a plethora of concert and marching bands all throughout grade school. When I was 14, I acquired my first electric guitar. I immediately fell

"Arlys is a exceptional & knowledgeable teacher

Arlys is an exceptional and knowledgeable teacher. Our online lessons take place once a week and are 30 minutes long. With her help, I was able to make significant progress even with zero time for extra practice at this time in my life. She is always supportive and gives advice based on my own case — she truly listens to my concerns. After a few months (with very little independent practice) I feel confident singing around other people, something I wasn't sure I would overcome! I am finally ready for my first karaoke! She has also helped me prepare for a speech at work. I find her knowledge of science very informative and her voice relaxation techniques often work to relax the whole body and mind. Love it!"

Feeling Bored? 3 Ways to Stay Motivated at the Piano

Are you getting bored or perhaps discouraged with playing the piano? In this week's guest post, Allysia from PianoTV.net shares three ways to stay motivated at the piano... We all know the drill with motivation. You listen to a great recording or live performance, and are filled with energy and enthusiasm. You rush to the piano and happily practice every day for a week, a month, or even longer. But then maybe you get bored, or hit a rough patch, and suddenly you can barely drag yourself …
