My teaching method is very practical and customized to every individual. I do not believe that you can use the same style with every student because everyone learns differently. With any instrument I teach, I usually approach things from a three-part method, technique, theory, and application.
Examples of technique for vocal performance:
Beginners : resetting the body and preparing it for singing, proper breathing technique, vocal warmups, etc.
Advanced: vocal warmup routine / stretching, how to achieve dynamic range, extend your range, control and power, pitch control
Examples of theory for vocal performance:
Beginners: relating notes you are hitting with your voice to a guitar or piano; intermediate ear training.
Advanced: how to find harmony, key building, study of how vocal lines relate to chord patterns, improvisational technique.
Application instruction for vocal performance:
Beginner: singing songs by the student's favorite artist.

I have experience playing around the U.S and also internationally on various occasions but I am now working to spread the love of music to the next generation and also those who always wanted to just learn more about playing or singing.
I have 30 years of teaching experience, including 15 years teaching in Europe and Asia. I am now back in the USA and looking for students. My teaching style is unique, refreshing, and lots of fun.
Thirty years ago, I was approached by a man in a chorus I was coaching. He liked what I did with the chorus and asked if I did private lessons. Although I had studied voice for over 15 years, and had been performing as a singer and actor for nearly 30 years, I had not taught privately before. However, I told him I would teach him and that began a wonderful and fulfilling career. My teaching style is unique in that I teach using a Capella (unaccompanied) techniques almost exclusively. My belief is that we have two ears and one mouth because we need to focus twice as much on critically listening to our singing as we do on mastering great singing techniques.
