About Scott S.

I began playing guitar as a teenager and fell in love with the instrument. I immersed myself in everything I could get my hands on: rock, blues, classical scores, you name it. Through private instruction I learned the science behind the instrument and the fundamentals of music theory. I began performing in local bands when I was 14, getting on stage to play anything from punk to acoustic alternative. It was at this time that I discovered other instruments. I began to sing and play piano, which are now passions of mine
I entered the University of Minnesota's School of Music in 2009 and music became my life. I furthered my performance abilities and expanded my interests. I graduated in early 2014 with my degree in music therapy.
I currently teach music full time and perform regularly around the Twin Cities. I play as lead guitar and backup vocalist for The Paper Days, a local folk rock group. I perform as a solo artist at local coffee shops, restaurants and bars.

Scott has been a great teacher and has been able to present things in a way I can understand but also pushing me to learn new things every lesson. He also listened to me and understood how I wanted to learn. It has been a great experience!
