Hi, and welcome to my profile! I am a Manhattan based, freelance classical violinist and aerialist with a passion for teaching. A west coast transplant, I received my bachelor's degree in Violin Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where I was a student of Axel Strauss. I moved out to New York to pursue my master's of music as a student of Hiroko Yajima at Mannes College, which I completed in 2011. *** Lesson Details *** I have 10 years of teaching experience, with students of all ages and abilities. In all lessons, my teaching philosophy focuses on a balance of strong technique and individual expression. My teaching style is structured, yet creative, adapting my teaching for each student. For flexibility, dance, and stretching lessons, I tailor training to students' existing abilities, pushing them just beyond their comfort zone to help establish steady progress. Skills are taught not only to achieve progress, but also to encourage self-teaching and injury prevention. For music, each lesson blends all elements of violin playing, building on previous learning, and establishing goals for the next lesson. I like to provide my students with skills and techniques that they can use in their own practice to help teach themselves, accelerating overall progress. Whatever your goals in music might be, I'd love to help you reach, and exceed them! *** Travel Equipment *** I provide no equipment. I expect the students to have their own equipment.
