Hello! -I am a self-taught guitarist and a schooled musician. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance. -I have been teaching guitar lessons for over 15 years. -I've been in original rock bands for over 15 years and toured the country performing my original music. -I have had beginner students go on to release albums on iTunes and tour the country with their original music. *** Lesson Details *** I teach what the student wants to learn. Are you interested in writing your own songs? Do you want to learn how to play songs by your favorite artists? Are you interesting in being a serious performer or looking to pick up playing guitar as a hobby? Whatever your musical goals, your lessons will be customized to them. *** Studio Equipment *** ML Studios: guitars, electronic piano, room for parents to sit in on lesson *** Travel Equipment *** lesson material. Students should have their own instrument. *** Specialties *** I specialize in a number of different methods to meet the wants and needs of the student. For example, if a student wants to become a songwriter, I incorporate songwriting tools such as song structure, basic theory, and the use of a capo in the lessons. In addition to teaching them their favorite songs, I will break them down into their parts and detail why and how it works. With beginning students, I teach them to read tablature as well as chord diagrams to pique their interest in learning most any song they wish without learning to read traditional music, which can quickly bog students down in frustration. I specialize in the genres of rock, pop, folk, blues, bluegrass, and songwriting, and am also capable to teach jazz and classical as well.
