Johanna S. is a classically trained coloratura soprano, and has studied and performed all over the world. Johanna holds a Bachelor of Music, Vocal Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music, and a Graduate Diploma, Opera Performance from the Queensland Conservatorium in Brisbane, Australia. While at Cleveland, Johanna performed the roles of Despina (Cosi fan tutti) and Flora (La Traviata) for the CIM Opera Scenes, and appeared with the CIM Opera Chorus for 4 years. She performed the role of Tytania in a Britten's Midsummer Nights Dream for the Queensland Conservatorium, and has toured Italy as a vocal and operatic soloist. I grew up obsessively listening to everything i could get my hands on, and began playing guitar at the age of 11. That was cut short, though, when the next year I almost lost my middle finger on my left hand in an ice skating incident. i've been studying voice and theatre since I was about 14 years ago. Broadway has always been my first love and when I was young I wanted to be a Broadway star. As I grew up and my voice started to mature I found a love for Opera but it doesn't really matter what I'm doing as long as I'm singing and performing! Because of my lengthy experience in Musical Theatre, Opera, Jazz and the Classical Voice I find these experiences to help my students grow in several different areas.
