Piano, Music Theory, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn
Hi! My name is Beckie and I have played music for all of my life. I play many different instruments such as the Trumpet, French horn and Piano. I graduated from Chapman University in 2010 with 2 degrees in music, Music Education and Music Performance on French horn. I also taught elementary school for 3 years and was a brass coach for a Montessori Academy. I have taught privately for 10 years now and love the one-on-one attention that I can give the students. I currently work for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, I perform with two different orchestras and am in a Brass Ensemble called the Vine Street Brass that performs for events around the city.
I look forward to working with your or your child in helping to start or continue a musical instrument!
Piano, Clarinet, Flute, Music Theory, Saxophone, Trumpet
Originally from New York, I recently moved to Southern California to pursue my teaching career. In 2011, I graduated cum laude with degrees in Music Education and Flute Performance from Manhattanville College, where I received several performance awards including the Elliot Magaziner Award, and the Michael L. Falacaro Award. Additionally, I was accepted into Manhattanville's first annual Students of Great Achievement program.
Upon graduation, I was accepted to a New York University graduate program in conjunction with the Kodaly Institute in Kecskemet, Hungary, where I studied music pedagogy and ethnomusicology. Previously in 2010, I also took advantage of a community service exchange program at Manhattanville to travel abroad to Kolkata, India, where I volunteered at a local orphanage.
Currently, I reside and teach in Los Angeles County. I teach general music and band in North Hollywood, I run an after-school band program in El Segundo, and I am a substitute woodwind teacher with the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (YOLA) at the Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA).
Bass Guitar, Guitar, Classical Guitar, Music Performance, Trumpet
I moved to Los Angeles in 2009 to pursue a Master's degree in Classical Guitar Performance at the University of Southern California under the tutelage of world famous guitarist, Scott Tennant. In addition to Tennant, I've with several of today's leading classical guitarists including William Kanengiser, Brian Head, James Smith, Pepe Romero, Jorge Caballero, Sergio and Odair Assad, Pablo Cohen, and Timothy Walker (during a stint at the Royal Acadamy of Music in London).
As an undergraduate music student at Ithaca College, I honed my chops as a performer in both ensemble and solo settings, giving frequent recitals throughout upstate New York.
Of my musical abilities, my college guitar professor once wrote, "Brian is one of the most virtuosic guitarists I have ever come across in more than fifteen years of teaching at Ithaca College. His technical ability, sound quality and very passionate interpretations are comparable to the skills and artistry only found in a handful of today’s young professional guitarists"
Though the bulk of my training has been in classical guitar, I'm a lover of all styles of music, and would never to think to push a formal classical guitar education on someone who isn't interested. But no matter what style of guitar you'd like to pursue, I will certainly pepper in some classical techniques and exercises to make sure your fingers are moving as effortlessly and efficiently as possible. I also place a strong emphasis on music theory, and learning to read music.
Bass Guitar, Guitar, Piano, Singing, Music Performance, Music Theory, Songwriting, Trumpet, Ukulele, Trombone
Music has been a part of my life since I was 5 years old, when my father would record my brother and I singing. I always loved singing and learned many of my favorite songs as a child.
I started playing the trumpet in the 4th grade, which has led me all the way to receiving my degrees in Trumpet Performance and Music Education! I was lucky enough to attend one of the nation's top music schools, The Peabody Institute, and I now work toward my Master's degree at California State University, Long Beach. I have enjoyed performing in everything from big-band-lead to principal trumpet in the orchestra, leading brass quintets and brass ensembles, and much more! The trumpet has been a huge passion for as long as I can remember now!
While I was learning songs as a child, I decided I wanted to join a band! Now here we are 10 years later and I've have the fortune of performing as a lead singer in bands across the country, and let me tell you there is no bigger thrill than getting in-front of a crowd full of cheering fans, performing music you love.
I've also been playing the guitar for just under 10 years. Playing the guitar has been both a complete joy, but also a fantastic learning experience. I have been learning songs of my favorite artists and even written my own material, and having the opportunity to immerse myself in my favorite music and create music of my own has taught me so much more about music and being a musician. I hope to impart this experience onto all of my students.
Whether it's trumpet, voice, or guitar, I love all things music and my #1 objective is to for my students to learn how it feels to experience what music REALLY has to offer, so to you reading this, let's make some noise!

I am a brass, voice and percussion artist and teacher, local to the Pomona area, specializing in many styles such as Classical, Jazz, and Pop. I am a tuba player at the Disneyland resort in Anaheim performing in numerous ensembles throughout the park. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Tuba Performance from CSU Sacramento and I am currently pursuing my master's degree in tuba performance at Azusa Pacific University. At APU I am involved in many ensembles including the top jazz band, wind ensemble, graduate quintet, vocal jazz, and am the Assistant director of the Blackout Marching Band (APU). During my time in Sacramento I held the position of Principal Tuba for the Folsom Symphony for the 2009 - 2011 seasons. I was also the lead trombone for the Harley White Jr. Jazz Orchestra as well as Element Brass Band. In addition, I was privileged to win multiple downbeat awards with the Sacramento State Jazz Singers where I sung bass and was often a featured soloist. I am featured as the bass singer in Selfless Cold and Composed on the Ben Folds' College a cappella album released in 2009. As well, I have been given the great opportunity to play in several professional drum lines (most notably that of the San Francisco 49ers "Niner Noise" and Golden State Warriors aftershock". In March 2010 I became the first tuba player win CSU Sacramento’s classical concerto competition. Fluent on many instruments and in a wide variety of genres I have served on the music staffs at various drum corps and high school marching band programs around the state including Blue Devils "B", Sacramento Mandarins, Amador Valley HS, as well as teaching privately for several years. I use my wide variety of musical knowledge, to provide each student with the opportunity to succeed in many unique ways via a positive, encouraging environment.

My goal as a teacher is to make music enjoyable and educational for any student. I meet each of my students at their level and my passion is to ensure that all of my students' musical dreams come true.
I have studied classical guitar and saxophone since 1999. I continued my studies of both instruments while at university. While at UNT, I learned how to play all of the wind and percussion instruments and I studied piano as well. I have played in several bands and I have recorded three albums with those various groups (all original music).
