I am a San Francisco Bay Area native and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in music from Santa Clara University, California. I have been singing in choirs for over twelve years in church, university, community, as a paid professional, and notably for three consecutive seasons with the Opera San Jose paid opera chorus. Bay Area credits include Bay Shore Lyric, Lyric Theater of San Jose, West Bay Opera, Notre Dame de Namur University, and Opera San Jose. My name is Douglas and I am a classically trained operatic baritone. I received my Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory, and my Master of Music from the University of Illinois. I have performed all over the world, including venues in Italy and Austria. I have studied and sung for operatic greats such as Nathan Gunn, Marilyn Horne, and Cynthia Haymon.

I have been teaching out of a private studio for the past four years, including a studio of 25 students a year ago. I am very passionate about teaching and instilling all that I've learned in my professional career. I am very demanding as a teacher, but I also create a fun atmosphere so that my students can feel comfortable and at ease.

While my background is in classical music, I love teaching musical theater and have plenty of experience in that genre as well.

I recently graduated with a BFA in Acting from the theatre program at Syracuse University (SU). During my time there, I studied at the Globe Theatre in London, in addition to spending a semester taking classes with Broadway and TV/Film Casting agents in New York City. I've done a few musicals in regional theaters in New York. And currently, I am a working actor in and around the city of Chicago. I have experience music directing, directing, choreographing, and teaching acting and voice throughout the year/summer for an elementary/middle school theatre program called Bravo Performing Arts Academy in Oak Park, IL. In the fall/winter, I music direct and teach private voice lessons for an adult a cappella group in Chicago. I studied voice, music theory, piano, acting, and dance within the SU theatre program and have been teaching for over 6 years. In addition, I taught music and theatre to special needs adults for all four years of college.

I am a singer/songwriter based out of Chicago, Illinois. After graduating from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music in 2008 with a degree in Vocal Performance and Theatre, I began performing on Cruise Ships with some fellow IU Straight No Chaser alums. I am an experienced vocalist, originally from Bay City Michigan. I am the eldest of two daughters, both of us heavily involved in the arts.

I attended Bay City Central High school where I had many interests and hobbies and was involved in many other activities that kept me busy, but none as busy as music and theater. I have been in over 15 productions through Middle and High school, where I had various rolls and responsibilities that gave me a good understanding of theater and music.

I was a key member in every choir in High school and Community College, and often times I was the student the teachers called upon to help teach sectionals and help give constructive feedback to the ensemble.

Justin is a teaching artist with Chicago Opera Theater's Opera for All program, where he teaches opera to elementary school students around Chicago. He is also a curricular tutor with the AVID program at Lake View High School, and a section leader/soloist with Community Christian Church and Temple Chai. Previously, Justin was thrilled to spend the past season working with Child's Play Touring Theatre. As their Music Director, Justin traveled the country presenting plays and musicals based on the original writings of children. I'm a classically trained singer taking a hard left at the corner of classical technique and real-world application. I studied classical voice for undergrad, but I started work in pop and jazz voice during my Masters degree. As a result, I've turned out to be a very versatile instructor, well-versed in multiple genres and able to teach healthy technique to all.

I am focused on creating a comfortable music-making environment so that my students can explore their potential at a pace that matches their goals. I push when I can tell my student is ready for it, and hold off when I can tell he or she needs a little bit of time to process. I love working with beginners as much as more advanced students. My goal is simply to help each person grow from his or her starting point.

Serena is originally from the New York City area and has been acting, singing, dancing, and playing piano since she was young. As a teenager, she attended the prestigious Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan and went on to receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. While she was there, she realized her love of teaching when she tutored struggling piano and music theory students.

In Chicago, her credits include: Macbeth, Jersey Shore: The Musical, Jack and the Beanstalk, Theatre of Women 6, Pirates of Penzance, Change the Night Owl, and her own solo cabaret "Should I Be Sweet?"

I am a classically trained singer that also has extensive experience in musical theater and acting. Currently finishing my Masters of Music Degree in Voice Performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, I have performed in various operas this past year, including Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Leonard Bernstein’s Candide, and Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. I have studied voice for the last 15 years, and received my Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice Performance from the University of Central Florida. As a professional singer, my performances have spanned opera, art song, jazz, music theater, and contemporary. I also have studied French, German, and Spanish to help aid in learning classical music. I believe in a strong technical foundation when singing, but I also feel that it is important to have fun, and enjoy the music that you are making.

I have been singing and taking lessons for 16 years. I studied jazz, opera, and musical theater at Cornell College, where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performance in 2008. While in college, I was the singer for the school jazz combo and performed several roles in the Cornell College Lyric Theatre, including Joanna (Sweeney Todd), and Nella (Gianni Schicchi). I also taught musical theater classes to groups of children ages 6-13 during the summer. I have been performing as a wedding and funeral singer most recently.

I love all kinds of music, and my experience with a wide variety of musical styles allows me to help you learn the kind of music you want to learn.
