About Me

Hello! My name is Ed. I'm 27 years old and have been teaching guitar for over 9 years. I have been in many semi-pro bands of various styles including rock, classic rock, blues, original, and heavy metal. I attended 2 universities where I studied audio engineering/classical guitar performance. I am fortunate to have studied with some of the finest music/guitar professors in the country!
I am also experienced with recording original music and composing. Recently, I was asked to write the music score for an upcoming documentary film. I have a lot of first hand experience with both performing and teaching, so I know I can help you reach your goals.
I am a very laid back kind of teacher. I will make sure you learn the things that you need to know, while at the same time making sure you have fun. I firmly believe that practicing the guitar should not be thought of as homework! I am not a school teacher, so you will never receive a bad grade or get yelled...

About Me

I’m excited to be a TakeLessons instructor and to be able to share my experience and knowledge with you. I have been a singer and performer for over 20 years and have taught voice and beginning piano for six years.

I received a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. I continued my studies in New York City in voice, acting and diction.

I continue to be an active performer specializing in musical theater, opera and concert. I began my professional career as an apprentice with the Portland Opera in Oregon. Since then, I have appeared with opera companies and orchestras throughout the United States and abroad and am a frequent guest vocalist and recitalist.

About Me

I grew up around Atlanta, GA and started playing piano when I was around 7 years old and bass when I was 11. Most of my education has been on the upright bass. I've studied classical bass performance at major music schools on the east coast and in the midwest. I've studied and worked with musicians from many of the great orchestras around the world.

I enjoy working with students who are just coming to the bass or piano for the first time and getting them started with music in a rewarding way as well as more advanced students that need finer musical direction or audition coaching.

I am a professional performing Singer/Guitarist/Songwriter with 25+ years experience playing and teaching. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Guitar Performance from Temple University and spent 6 years performing in NYC with various groups and ensembles. I have studied and teach Classical guitar, Theory from both a classical and Jazz view point, Composition/Arrangement, Counterpoint and performance techniques such as repertoire building and maintenance.

Originally from Baltimore, classical pianist Gabrielle S. studied at Peabody Preparatory with a focus in performance and music theory. Later, she moved to Pittsburgh and received her Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from Duquesne University and is currently working on her Master's of Music Degree in Music Technology: Composition. She has won the Spring Piano Competition of the Duquesne Piano Department for three years in a row. She frequently records all periods of repertoire and also many original compositions. She has a strong passion for performing and writing the highest quality of music. If you are considering becoming a professional musician or are just interested in developing a rewarding hobby, she will help you accomplish your musical goals.

I am a professional percussionist and recording engineer with a Bachelors in Music Technology from Duquesne University. I have been playing for 14 years and am versed in in many drumming styles including rock, funk, jazz, afro-cuban, and brazilian. As a recording engineer I have recorded every genre from classical to metal. I cover everything from sound theory and physics to hands on application.

My name is Cara R., I'm 22, a recent college graduate of Grove City College with a Bachelor's Degree in Music. Flute was my main instrument, but i also play piano too. I've played flute for 12 years and piano for 7. This is my first time teaching, but my dream job would be to teach lessons from my home. I love music and I absolutely love teaching anyone who is interested to learn about it! From the basics to the notes on the staff, to the circle of fifths and complicated theory, i would love to teach all aspects of music. If you're a beginner, or you've been playing for a few years, we can find where you are and get you started right away! If you have a specific genre you like most, i.e. romantic or classical, we can spend a lot of time in that period! I hope you will give me a chance :)

About Me

Hi! I am a classically trained pianist originally from Syracuse, NY. I graduated from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA where I studied piano under Professor Alec Chien. I also enjoyed playing the French horn and percussion with the Allegheny Wind Symphony and Wind Ensemble.

I have performed numerous piano solo recitals, as a featured pianist with the Allegheny Wind Ensemble, in piano duos, a piano quartet, small instrumental groups and in the pit orchestra for musical productions. I know the skills and technique needed to play as a soloist and in different types of groups. I am eager to share this with aspiring pianists.

I have 4+ years experience teaching private lessons to young children and 3 years experience in teaching fun group EZ play organ classes to senior citizens. My senior year I was also a substitute teacher for beginning class piano at Allegheny College.
