Drum, Music Theory, Percussion
I was born in Charlestown West Virginia. My musical career started at age 3 when my parents placed a pair of drum sticks in my hands. I started playing drums in church and then progressed to play in middle school where I was apart of the jazz band and orchestra. With some very early lessons, I begin to blossom into a skillful drummer. I then continued to play in bands in high school and, in addition, became apart of the Milford Mill Academy Marching Band. In my sophomore year, I became the section leader of the drum line where I played the snare drum. I have 2 degrees in music theory from Deer Park Magnet school and Morgan State University. I have performed with many bands from different musical genres such as gospel, funk, pop, jazz, blues, rock, Latin, reggae, and R&B. In 2004 I became the only drumming instructor at The Psalms of David School Of Music. In 2011 I started and became the principle of the New Antioch Baptist Church School of Music. I have recorded with a variety of musical artists and currently plays full time at the New Antioch Baptist Church of Randallstown. In 2012, I recorded my first DVD entitled, "Piper's Time 2 Groove". Throughout the last 24 years of my drumming career, I still have the passion and fun as if it were day 1. Within the last 12 years, I have taken that same passion for playing and have transferred that energy into all of my students. I welcome all students any age, any skill level. Hope to have you as a new student soon!

I am originally from Chicago, Illinois and now reside in the Maryland/Washington D.C. area. I started singing publicly around the age of 5 and playing piano at 9. From there I have toured overseas to various parts of Europe and across the United States. I have learned various techniques from Classical, to Gospel, to Country, to R&B, to Pop/Rock, to Musical Theatre and many more. In addition to just singing them myself I can effectively teach others the how to sing their favorite genre as well. I have taught for music and arts, Andrews Air Force base and several local music schools. I also help students preparing for college auditions, and recitals. In addition, I have experience with social media and online presence which can allow vocal singers the opportunity to sing with others and create various performance recordings. On the academic side of things I help tutor students in a variety of subjects and coach them to achieve better grades, and higher test scores to create an attractive college preparation portfolio.
Violin, Music Performance, Music Theory
I have studied with Wanchi Huang at James Madison University for six years. At JMU, I earned a Bachelor of Music and a Master of Music, both in violin performance. I am currently working on a doctoral degree at Catholic University of America, studying with Jody Gatwood. When I was a student at JMU, I taught several students privately. The students ranged from retirees to JMU faculty and students to adolescents. I am now teaching at Baltimore Talent Education Center, where I teach violin in small groups and individual lessons. The students at BTEC range from pre- kindergarden through high school. I also have festival experience. I have been a student at Brevard Music Center, Heifetz International Music Institute, BayView Music Festival, and I was a Teaching Fellow at Interlochen Arts Camp. Through my experiences both as a student and as a teacher, I understand that every student is a little bit different. Every student has different strengths and weaknesses. Every student has a different learning style. Every student has a different way of understanding things, a different way of processing information, and a different personality all together. It will be my job as a teacher to get to know each student individually and use my teaching methods to teach the student how to play the violin and help him or her to reach his or her goals.
