About Me

I have been teaching and performing as a full time career since 1994. Over the years, I have developed an approach to teaching that is customized to the needs and interests of each of my students. I will help you set up musical goals, and then use your preferred learning style to help you achieve those goals.

*** Lesson Details ***
Musicians think, learn, and create in many different ways. Some are visual learners, preferring to learn by studying diagrams and reading notes. Others learn intuitively, simply by listening, imitating, and then creating. My objective is to find the learning style which works best for each of my students. I can help you set up musical goals, and then use your preferred learning style to help you achieve those goals.

*** Specialties ***
I'm comfortable teaching any style, from bluegrass to jazz, blues, rock and metal.

About Me

I discovered music sifting through my Dad's record collection and soon decided that I wanted to play guitar. As a teenager I began taking lessons and building confidence in my abilities. I played in different types of bands ranging from rock, country, blues, and jazz. After completing College in 2004, I realized music was not just going to be a hobby, but a career. At age 32, I have been teaching and playing guitar professionally for the last eight years. I believe that anybody can learn to play as long as they are patient and understand that anything worthwhile takes time and sustained effort to achieve. You also need a good teacher who understands how to take you where you want to go musically. I have taught hundreds of different students of all ages and abilities. I have seen many of them grow musically and gain confidence in other areas of their lives as a result. I aim to inspire every student to find their way to a rewarding life through music.

*** Lesson Details ***
My lesson plans are developed on an individual basis. I want you to learn the music that inspires your passion. If the guitar is new to you, the first lessons are devoted to basic playing skills and techniques. It is important to develop a strong understanding of music fundamentals to ensure that the student is attaining the skills they need to be a complete musician. I emphasize technique with drills designed to raise my students' skills evenly across a wide range of categories, like picking, fretting, scale patterns, chord shapes, rhythmic training, and ear training. I have had success with many students using this approach and most are playing songs within a couple months. For the more serious student, music theory is an important tool to understand songwriting and music in general. I am always open to discuss what we do during a lesson. I believe it is my job to balance what you want to do with what you need to do in order to succeed.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I have amps, guitars, 1/4 inch cables, tuners, metronomes, paper and pens.
Would like students to have all these things but can accommodate based on need.

*** Specialties ***
Rock, Pop, Blues, Country, flat-picking, finger-style

About Me

Hello!

My name is Brandon L.! I have been a percussionist for 12 years, a producer for 5 and an artist since the day I was born! I'd love to share my knowledge of music with you and I want to show you everything you need to know to start learning on your own!

Working with me will kick start your amazing journey as serious musicians. I have a certified sessions player reputation by many industry professionals such as Rob Robinson, Dave Celentano, Matthew Dubbs and many more!

Whether you're just now beginning or you've been doing it for years, these private lessons will push you to your highest potential and maximize your drive and allow you to move on to the next step of your musical goals in life!

Being taught as a child was a very exhilarating and stimulating experience, so I like to put as much energy and excitement into a lesson as possible. Even if there is no sign of progress, the most important thing to do is to encourage the student because getting better at your instrument is exponential and will usually start off sluggish.

I like to have my student pick a style of music they like and play along to it to get them pumped about learning. When they are completely synced in with the feel of the music, I like to have them play along with a style more complex, or out of their comfort zone if you will. This establishes a sub conscious goal they should be trying to reach every time they pick up their instrument.

*** Lesson Details ***
Before taking lessons with me, there are only 2 things you need to know:

.You are REQUIRED to express your creative side with 100% honesty, there will be no holding back in creativity in my classroom!

.Keep in my that though we want you to be as open as possible, I will often have strict guidelines for the benefit of your musicianship. It may seem like I may push you sometimes and it may seem to get boring and pointless.. but your musicianship will improvement exponentially with each lesson!
