About Me

I am a senior Jazz Studies major at Wayne State University. I have previously earned both a Associate of Arts degree, and a Music Foundations Certificate from Schoolcraft College in Livonia, Michigan. I have years of experience as a professional guitar instructor, working with both children and adults of all ages.

About Me

I teach all styles of guitar, as I have been in many different types of music situations: Soloist (Classical) Ensemble (Classical and Jazz) Lead and Rhythm (Various Rock and Roll bands) Songwriting and Recording. I am a people person that learned the guitar from many different sources. Most of my learning came from watching others and communicating with others. I like to learn about the people I am teaching so that I can better understand their needs as a musician. My education came as a practical necessity in order to get better as a teacher and performer, as well as make a living doing it. But, by no means do I preach the need to be "educated" to be a working, practical musician. This can scare people off. I do however enlighten you into why it may be important to understand certain aspects of music as opposed to just "picking and grinning", IE learning only "By Ear."

About Me

-Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Guitar Performance from Musicians Institute, Hollywood, CA. -Over 15 years playing and performing experience on Guitar and Drums/Percussion. -Strong passion for Music Education, especially motivating and accelerating beginning level students.
-Have studied privately with over 20 professional instructors: encyclopedic knowledge of playing techniques, teaching methods, genres, equipment, and repertoire. -Personable, patient and goal oriented: able to establish strong rapport with all levels and ages, and to achieve individual playing objectives.

About Me

I am a patient, enthusiastic teacher in the following areas: piano, violin, cello, drums, music history, and music theory. I have taught vocal and instrumental music in both Catholic and Public schools, and in after-school programs, for 20 years, and have been giving private lessons for 9 years. I enjoy teaching music to all age students, and especially enjoy watching my students grow in their music ability.

I received my Bachelor of Arts from Marygrove College in Detroit in Language Arts with minors in Music Education and History,and my Masters Degree from Wayne State University in Education with emphasis on English as a Second Language and Sign Language for the Deaf. I have studied Music Education for K-5 at Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan.

About Me

I have been singing and playing piano all of my life. I took my first music lesson I was just three years old I never looked back! After high school I earned my Bachelor of Music Performance and my Master of Music. I attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. It was in Louisiana where I began my teaching career, just over ten years ago.

After returning to Michigan, I began teaching K-12 music in both public and private school settings. I currently maintain a private studio in addition to teaching voice part-time at Oakland Community College and I teach piano through a community outreach program.

About Me

Trevor has studied the guitar with many master level guitarists. His experience of formal and none formal training gives him an in-depth teaching style. He has over 11 years of teaching experience and a living practical approach to the guitar. Trevor is experienced in teaching jazz, rock, folk, blues, blues grass and many other styles of guitar playing.

His clear communication skills, and intuitive nature assist him in developing custom tailored lesson to student's individual needs. Trevor studied at Wayne State University and has performed with Grammy nominated musicians. His lighthearted playfulness is delightful for students young and old.
