Originally from Clinton, NJ, Dan has been surrounded by music his whole life. He grew up in a musical home with a sister who sang and acted from a very young age, now finding success on Broadway. In addition to that, his father, who was also a singer and guitarist in his earlier years. Dan’s journey in playing music began with piano, then finding that his true love in the guitar.

At 13, Dan began taking private guitar lessons with local guitarist Joe Stuby. With Joe’s experience in working with musicians such as Bernie Worrell (Parliament Funkadelic) and Buddy Miles (Band Of Gypsys), Dan was exposed to the beauty of Funk and Soul early. After taking lessons with Joe for eight years learning the ins and outs of Rock, Blues, Funk, and Soul styles, Dan went on to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston. Hello, nice to meet you. I have over 15yrs of experience teaching music/recording to both children and adults. Some of my accolades include: a degree from the Conservatory of the Fine and Performing Arts; Pianist/composer credits on at least three CD’s; Two GRAMMY awards for music recording/mixing and numerous radio airplays.

I first fell in love with music at the age of 4. My grandfather Umberto, was a conductor at the Metropolitan Opera house in NY while my grandmother Flora, a concert pianist, used to play for the family while my mother would sing along. I started my studies with my grandmother at the age of 6, five times a month and moved on to make it a daily event. I have loved music and teaching ever since and I would love the opportunity to take all the patience, caring and knowledge that my grandmother had for me and pass it along.

I have been a voice teacher for over twenty- five years. My background includes ten years of classical training with Maestro Julio Berrocal as well as vocal training through the Feldekrais approach with Marcy Lindhiemer. In acting I have studied with renowned Stanislavsky scholar Sonia Moore and Master acting teacher of the Strasberg Method, Marcia Haufrecht. I believe we all have something distinctive that can be developed and expressed through the voice. I work to help the student discover their individual and unique sound. I give them tools to gain the ability and confidence to achieve their goals. Percussionist and composer Marc W. was born in Switzerland, where he studied classical percussion at the Geneva Conservatory. He has lived in the United States since the 1980s, where he studied composition and mallet technique on the vibraphone at the Berklee School in Boston, then moved to New York City to further his jazz performance and percussion skills. Since that time, Marc has toured the U.S., Europe, Japan and Brazil, and can be heard on over 20 recordings, including 4 solo albums.
Marc’s interest in electronics led him to push the boundaries of live performance with the “electronic vibraphone”, where he is recognized as a pioneer on this instrument.

Music is magical! There was a point in my life when I realized for me to be completely happy, I must learn to play guitar . Since then, there's been no turning back. My earlier years I played trombone in elementary and junior high school. It wasn't until I was in college when I picked up the guitar. I was accepted into The Collective School of Music NYC in 2009, eventually earning a diploma in the two year program. There I studied with some of the best teachers and professional musicians in New York City. Since then, I've been teaching, songwriting, and performing. My favorite genre of music is traditional country and folk, but I love to play all kinds of good music including but not limited to blues, jazz, rock, and pop.

My approach as a piano and flute teacher is to endow each student with the skills and tools needed to improve his/her playing ability, increase musical expression and cultivate continued musical growth both in lessons and in practice time. I've been playing the saxophone since 4th grade, when the local high school jazz band came to my school to play for us. It was that experience that sparked an immediate and life-long passion for music in me. I had great teachers who made learning music fun & easy to understand. Music provided me many things- a sanctuary, a way to interpret the world and express myself, something to be accountable for and take pride in. When I got to high school, my school's administration piloted a work study program specifically for me to teach music at the 3 elementary schools in my school district with my high school band director for class credit. I've been playing the drums for 16 years, and don't see myself stopping. I currently play in the New York-based pop band The Great American Novel, and over the years have played in a variety of different bands at venues like Webster Hall, Irving Plaza, Starland Ballroom and The Mercury Lounge. Yuichi H. was born in Tokyo, Japan. His musical career started at age 10 when he performed marimba in a music recital. He started playing drum set at age 14 and joined a wind ensemble, a few rock bands, and a jazz big band. With some of these groups, he performed at several live music venues in Tokyo. My name is Tad. I'm a pro drummer who grew up here in NYC. I've been teaching in the New York area both privately and in schools since 1993. I offer one-on-one lessons either at your home or in my studio in the Music Building, located at 39th st. & 8th ave (one block from train station). My lessons are well-planned, quality affordable studies, lasting 30 (ages 6-12), 45, or 60 minutes (adults). I also offer practice time, on my Yamaha studio kit, at a very affordable hourly rate--this is available to weekly students only.

In my lessons I cover 'beginner' topics such as GRIP, RUDIMENTS (stickings) and BASIC READING of rhythmic notation (don't worry, it's not that difficult or scary) on the snare drum. Basic drumset skills are also covered, such as 3- and 4-way coordination and you will ultimately graduate to playing along with sequenced music (which I write for students), as well as your own CDs (teacher approved).
