I have a pretty musical background. My father is a bass teacher and was in the National Symphony Orchestra and my mother is a piano teacher and a elementary school music teacher. I have been taking music lessons since the age of 5 starting first with the piano, then violin at age 7, and switching my focus to viola at the age of 12. I went to Interlochen arts camp and was part of the American Youth Philharmonic before attending Shenandoah University to study Viola- Performance. I am currently in the Capital City Symphony and Washington Conservatory Orchestra and take lessons from a violist in the NSO.

As a teacher he has been a faculty member at Yale School of Music, 92nd Y, Summertrios Music Festival, and has held master classes at Yale and the William Blount-Slawson Competition.
