Eric has been playing for 10 years and teaching full time for over 3 years. His main roots are in Blues, Rock, and Funk, though he plays jazz, metal, soul, R&B, world styles, and fusion as well. Eric has studied music theory thoroughly and is able to teach the fundamentals of guitar playing and music theory.

Eric currently has 10-11 year old students who create original compositions and can improvise over them, in different flavors and sounds. He works with the student to understand their goals and create a regimen around their needs. Eric tries his best to help them reach their goals at the same time making it fun for them.

Eric believes that it's important for them to enjoy playing guitar as much as possible to build the passion in the students.  He also believes it is important to have a strong teacher/student bond where he can help support their strengths, overcome their shortcomings, and hopefully develop a passion for something that they will carry on for a lifetime. 

I do not have a set plan, because I found that different things work for different people.  I prefer to mold the lesson around your needs and interests. 

I prefer to focus on music theory (science of music harmony), and how to apply it on the guitar/bass.  We work to understand how to achieve different sounds with notes, then how to physically perform the ideas.  After understanding how flavors and sounds are achieved on guitar, we work to make original compositions and improvise.   Using compositions that the student picks out, we work to also learn how to play styles in traditional and non traditional ways. 

Although, some people just want to learn or play songs, which I'm happy to do as well. 

I will come to your home on a weekly basis to find your needs and build a lesson around them.   I will always try to teach you something you want to know about.

Also will accept students within my home for lessons.

Styles: Can teach any style or genre to intermediate level, w/ specialty in blues, rock, soul, R&B, funk, and fusion.
