Steven graduated with his bachelor of music degree from California State University, Northridge. While at C.S.U.N.,Steven was the winner of the Andres Segovia memorial scholarship and the Randy Rhoads memorial scholarship. Also,Steven has studied with many guitar greats such as Christopher Parkening and Randy Rhoads(Ozzy Osbourne). Currently, Steven is recording and performing with the virtuoso violinist Hekar Rivera and is the guitarist in a super cool instrumental Rock/Jazz/ R & B fusion quartet. In addition to performing, Steven teaches guitar at his studio in Ventura. Also, Steven is the head of the music department at North Hills Preparatory School and teaches guitar workshops at the Ventura College Institute.

Originally from Chicago, I attended Chicago Musical College for 2 years before moving to Calif. and receiving my B.A. in music from Cal. State Northridge. I also have an M.A. in Education from there. I have been a band director in public schools for over 40 years. My bands have won over 50 1st place awards in music competitions. I have been playing keyboard professionally since the age of 14. I truly enjoy working with both kids and adults on a one on one basis, and provide a relaxed and friendly, yet goal-oriented experience.

Melissa has been singing all of her life. She began her vocal training at a very cute age, learning every song she heard, and passionately performing them for friends and family. She later went on to pursue a formal education in Classical Vocal Performance & Jazz technique from California State University, Los Angeles. While completing her Bachelors degree, Melissa was fortunate to have worked with many established artists, bands and producers of various styles, including jazz, blues, rock, pop, soul & funk. These collaborations have allowed her to hone her own voice and successfully pursue professional work.

Most recently, Melissa has enjoyed the opportunity to lead elementary school choirs locally. She will have completed a Masters in Education with a Teaching Credential in 2012, and further, plans to pursue the field of Musical Therapy.

I studied piano and violin from my childhood, and also sang in choirs.

When I went to college (at Princeton University), I concentrated on my major field (of mathematics), and also on the competitive sport of diving. Springboard diving requires very precise control of the entire body, and is learned through hours of progressive exercises. The Princeton diving coach was a former Olympic diving champion, and was able to tell me exactly what exercises to practice to build up my repertoire of dives. He did well with me, and I became Eastern Intercollegiate champion and a National finalist.

When I was about 20, I met a young girl studying vocal music at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. She encouraged me to sing. We were both were attracted to opera and German “lieder”, but I suddenly found that I could not do what was required, since my childhood voice was long gone! My useful voice range included only about 5 tones of “chest voice”, and an easy “falsetto”...

I have 30 years teaching experience. I can teach many styles - from metal, country to classical. I expect my students to be their own musicians. I really stress creativity. I will teach you any song you like from your favorite artist, but I want you to write your own songs. I have plenty of local band experience. I am a graduate of the Musicians institute in Hollywood.

Recently graduating Pepperdine University with my Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance and English Literature, I am excited to enrich others with the indispensable knowledge of music. Studying and performing Classical Piano for the past 17 years, I have had the opportunity to perform with the Pepperdine Orchestra, in Piano Master Classes under the direction of established pianists Jura Margulis, Daria Rabotkina, and Jeffrey Siegel, and also in Heidelberg’s Music Program in Germany in 2011. Teaching music lessons for the past 6 years, I have found that both student and teacher benefit from this educational process, and the continued opportunity to expand musical knowledge is an extraordinarily beneficial process. Inspired by the challenging and creative aspects that music presents, I am totally excited to help foster the love for this unique art in you!

I received my BA in Music from UCSB and my MA in Humanities (emphasis in music history) from CSUDH. I have a piano teacher for many years, and many of my students have gone on to become professional musicians themselves. I am a member of MTAC, am a Certificate of Merit adjudicator, and am on the editorial board of the MTAC state magazine. My name is Mike T. and I'm a professional musician of 16 years. I started playing piano at the age of 8 and studied classical, rock, pop, ragtime, blues, and impressionistic styles. At the age of 11 I got my first drumset and started jamming to bands like Metallica, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, NOFX, Black Sabbath and of course Led Zepplin. By the time I reached the age of 21 I was a well established, mutli-instrumentalist.
I then attended Musician's Institute in Hollywood, CA where I honed my skills as a drummer and overall musician. I can now play all styles of drumming from Rock and Metal, to Latin and Jazz, to Reggae and Funk..you name it. Jan L. is an award winning songwriter, producer, actress, and artist developer. Her studio, Angel Diva Music, is designed to improve artist abilities on and off the stage as well as giving the clientele first-hand knowledge of the industry while increasing their creativity.

Backed by an extensive musical background debuting with the Philadelphia Orchestra and continuing her career singing with Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic, Jan L. went on to receive a Bachelor’s of Education in Opera at Temple University and two Master’s Degrees from Combs College of Music in Theatre Arts and Composition.
