About Mike

I attended the Berklee School of Music in Boston, and I have a BA in Music. I am a working pro musician, regularly playing all different kinds of gigs with different bands, as well as solo, and regular gigs on TV. I have taught music lessons, and guitar in particular, for 18 years. I play all styles, but my favorites are Rock, R&B, Country, Rockabilly, and Blues (I also enjoy playing jazz, classical, and other styles as well). My main instruments are guitar (electric and acoustic) and voice, but I play keyboards, bass, mandolin, and drums also. *** Lesson Details *** I focus on a comprehensive approach, incorporating each student's natural abilities as well as musical interests - whether you want to learn how to play your favorite songs, learn all the skills to play with a ...

Highly recommended: Amazing teacher!

Mike is a patient, supportive and incredibly talented teacher. From music theory to practical application, he's got all the answers... And he makes learning fun!

I took guitar lessons more than ten years ago and found it frustrating and I was terribly uninspired. Recently I took my old guitar out of mothballs and was determined to make some progress on the dang thing. A good friend recommended Mike and I've been taking lessons for nine months with him.

What's great about Mike is that he customizes my lessons. I'm not learning out of a book (which, I could if wanted) but I'm learning the songs that I love and learning the theory behind the chords, too. Then he keeps building on what we just learned. I go home from my hour lessons and play for another two hours because I'm so inspired.

I can't recommend Mike highly enough. He's a gem of a music instructor in the concrete jungle of Los Angeles.

Andrea B. North Hollywood, CA

I can teach you how to play with fingers and pick, walking bass Lines for blues or jazz, popular rock and pop songs.

About Andrea

I come from Italy, but have been living in the US for the past twelve years. I have achieved two degrees (production & performance) cum laude at the prestigious Berklee College Of Music in Massachusetts and have ever since worked as a guitarist and producer. I have been teaching for over ten years privately and in schools. I have helped students of all levels from beginners to fellow professionals. My philosophy is to make the learning process as enjoyable as possible and at the same time make sure the student keeps marking solid progress towards their goals. I believe to achieve that as many of my students told me I had helped them not just in the subject, but in their overall confidence, concentration skills and the quality of their study or practice.

Andrea is a very good guitar teacher, I can guarantee. While he was in Italy this summer, I had the chance to take a few lessons from him. I am a beginner, so we focused on rather simple things, but what I can say without a doubt is that his approach to teaching is very useful and at the same time funny. I had taken some lessons with other teachers before, but they were somehow dull and left me a sensation of "incompleteness" like I hadn't been able to fully comprehend what was taught to me. This was not the case. Plus, he's Italian, so could you ask for more than a good lesson AND pasta?

Osmar O. Van Nuys, CA

- I have played upright and electric bass for 15 years, performed live for 12 years and taught privately for 7 years.

- My curriculum is tailored to every single student because not every student is the same. I believe that using the word "no" while teaching music and art is deteriorating to the creativity of the student. Aside from the foundation of the subject I will teach you what you have passion in because if the student is interested in the subject then that is when learning begins.

About Osmar

I attended Berklee College of Music with a scholarship and graduated with Honors "Magna Cum Laude" in less than 4 years. Performed and taught in some of New England as well as NYC important venues during this time and toured the east coast with renowned Sax player Donald Harrison. During my time at Berklee I also worked in the performance departments as an accompanist and teacher assistant. I am also fluent in Spanish and can teach my classes in both languages.
