We work hard and play hard. There are a lot of laughs along with learning. I host recitals twice a year for those who would like to showcase their talent and progress, not to mention it's fun!
I use classical as the foundation to teach. I use the method books that apply to the students such as "Essential Elements," "Orchestra Expressions," "All For Strings." Etude books such as Kreutzer, Wohlfarht, Mazas, etc, and a wide variety of solo pieces. I encourage singing as much as possible, and enforce reading concepts, style, and passion.
Everyone is their own person, from adult to child I understand if other activities take precedence or if violin is you number one goal. Either way, I can adapt the lesson to fit your need! Remember the lesson should fit your vision not mine, although I may have some good advice to contribute to your vision.
I very much love teaching, and have a lot of patience. I believe music should be fun, and is necessary to a well-balanced life.
I currently live in Northridge, CA. I began my classical training at the age of 5 and began performing professionally in a mariachi group at the age of 15 years old. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education at California State University, Northridge in December of 2010 where I studied violin with Michael Ferril a graduate from Julliard who has played on countless Hollywood films. I returned to CSUN as a graduate student and received my teaching credential in 2013.

No two students are ever alike. I've learned that using only one method may not benefit all students. Therefore, I use a variety of methods, some of which include Hanon, the Bastien Series, Suzuki technique for Piano and Violin, and countless others depending on what the student wishes to achieve. I have found that my most successful (and satisfied) students are the ones that express to me their specific musical goals, and then I am able to find a combination of methods to help them practice, rehearse, and refine their style of interest.
Lessons are uniquely tailored to the students' goals, be it to become functional with an instrument or to dominate at an audition. We will go through warm-ups that will place emphasis on technique, explore various methods so that the student may decide which one gets them the best result, and then work through the repertoire not only for proficiency, but also for interpretation, precise yet passionate phrasing, and of course, to ...
Poised, energized, and armed with unforgettable performance ability, Michelle G. is a firework in the artistic arena. Her training began at the young age of 3 with the violin, and a few years later received classes for piano and voice. Excelling in all three, Michelle developed a very passionate and dramatic personality that eventually led her to more dramatic genres such as opera and stage acting. Her aptitude to understand human emotions and relationships gives her a wide spectrum to play in as an actress. There is an organic flow to her interpretations both as an actress and musician that leads the audience to feel her emotional current. Her honest characterizations introduce deeper perspectives on what seems like the ordinary roles and storylines. ...

I started playing Violin at age five which lead me to study a bachelor of performing arts at WAAPA, Australia.
From there my music has taken me all around the world, playing in Orchestras in Australia, Europe and now America. The US government granted me an extraordinary ability visa in music, recognizing me as one of the best performers from my home country which allows me to teach and perform music in America.
I love passing on my knowledge to new students to help them grow as musicians, nothing is more satisfying to see someone learn how to play an instrument and watch them really enjoy the process.
I started my musical career at the age of 2, on the piano, shortly afterwards moving to the violin, and most recently, the viola. Earning the music scholarship at school for best classical musician, and later on the scholarship for best orchestral instrumentalist at the world renowned music conservatoire WAAPA (West Australia Academy of Performing Arts). Earning my first diploma (A.Mus.A) at age 14, my music has taken me all around the world. I've played such places as the Australian High Commission, Rheingoldhalle in Mannhein, Dvorak hall in Prague, Australian embassy in London, Disneyland in Paris, and the opening the Australian embassy in Berlin, all before the age of 18.
I have played in trios, quartets, as a soloist, and many orchestral ensembles playing major concertos, ...
I majored in violin performance and studied with the best Russian violin teachers. I have had decades of professional playing experience on the violin.
I studied music; violin performance, at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore. I majored on violin and minored on piano. I then spent many years playing and performing professionally in many groups. I played in groups like the Los Angeles Baroque Orchestra and other modern music and classical groups.
Since I also like to compose, I picked up many other styles and learned a few other instruments.
I taught music for over twenty years, being active in the Music Teacher's Association and serving as string judge for the Certificate of Merit several years running.
I teach with the principle that anyone can learn anything that is given in the right gradient and this is what really makes learning music enjoyable; not learning a lot of worthless shortcuts but being able to play ...
