Corinne holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Vocal Studies from Michigan State University and enjoys teaching children and adults how to sing. All levels, styles, and ages are welcome. :)

Corinne was a vocal director for Rock and Ridicule, a rock and roll musical performed at the Acme Comedy Theatre in Hollywood. In addition to teaching music privately, Corinne substitute teaches piano and voice at the Hermosa Beach School of Dance and Music.

I make lesson time fun while giving my students a solid musical foundation to grow upon. I teach a variety of styles and methods. I teach piano, guitar, and bass. I also teach ear training, composition, and music theory. If your goal is to have fun playing your favorite music or write your own songs, I can help achieve your goals.

Let Me tell you a bit about myself:

I have been playing the guitar for over 20 years. I've been trained in Jazz with a very strong musical theory background but my main passion is popular rock music. Music has always been the greatest passion in my life. In addition to the guitar I also play drums, pedal steel, bass, and piano so I have a good idea of how instruments work together to create music.

I've been playing professionally for the past 15 years touring Nationally and Internationally. I've toured with my own original acts as well as a hired lead guitar player for Shooter Jennings and others. I've also been a studio musician for some time now, hired to play on many different artists' recordings.

I've been a recording engineer and producer so I have a well rounded background in many aspects of music.

I've been surrounded by music literally my entire life - both of my parents were professional classical violinists, and my first word was "gig." Before taking up guitar, I'd studied piano and cello; as I focused more on guitar, that also led to interests in electronic music, recording production and engineering, and composition. I went on to obtain a BFA in guitar performance, and have been actively playing, writing, recording, and teaching for many years.

For beginning students, I combine basic playing technique with a solid foundation in musical fundamentals, including standard notation, rhythmic reading, and (when useful) tablature. For more advanced students, my specialty is in applying a number of core concepts (including theory, ear training, and technique) to a wide range of musical styles. I'll typically use examples from rock, jazz, and blues as ways of "connecting the dots" between core music concepts and their real-world application.

Tony has been performing professionaly for over 35 years. When he arrived in Los Angeles in 1969 he studied guitar with virtuoso Jimmy Stewart. Later, he studied with master guitarist George Van Eps.

Tony played guitar with many top recording artist in the mid 1970's. Later, he started to teach formerly at the John Waltrip Music School in Arcadia California. From then on, he set up "Music With Frets," and began to teach privately.

In addition, he is teaching 6th and 7th grade guitar classes at St. Cyril of Jerusalem School in Encino. Tony is a bonded and certified by the LAPD and FBI. Tony finds it very rewarding in helping beginner and advanced students to learn the beautiful music the guitar can make.

As Tony's teacher, George Van Eps taught him to think of the guitar as a "Lap Piano" so Tony does the same. The guitar is a versatile chordal and melodic instrument, and should be taught as such.

I started piano at age 4, and continued study for decades under top talent such as University of Arizona graduate Lynn Moser; Eastman School of Music graduate Randall Fusco; and Claremont graduate Andrea Anderson, PhD. I perform solo and in bands and keep up to date on techniques and the music industry through seminars, showcases and conferences. My own compositions blend classical piano with lyrical electronic music, which I create at Dorothea G. Studio on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks.

Hi! My name is Shannon and I am very excited to be apart of the Take Lesson's team! I think I came out of the womb singing a song! My love of music and eventually performing, led me to recieve my bachelor's in Voice Performance from Missouri Southern State University in my hometown of Joplin, Missouri. While getting my degree, I realized I wasn't quite ready to embark in the professional performing world without a little more education. I went on to recieve my Masters Degree in Musical Theatre from The Boston Conservatory. I moved to LA in the fall of 2009 and fell in love with the weather and the people.

Music is such an important part of my life and I love sharing my knowledge and passion with other people! Not only is learning about music a fun experience, but helps build discipline, confidence, and pride in ones accomplishments no matter how big or small. Music will be in our lives forever! To know more about it will only enhance ones life experience!

I'm Nicole and I look forward to working with you! I am a professional drummer/percussionist/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. I studied music at the University of Miami Frost School of music where I received a Bachelor's of Music in Studio Music and Jazz Drum Set Performance. I've performed on Television (Drums, piano, guitar, percussion) on the T.V. shows: "Glee," "Bones," "The Closer," "Oprah." I was the showband drummer on the Norwegian Dawn Cruise Ship in 2006 and the original drummer/percussionist/actor in the Off-Broadway Musical, "Dear Edwina" in New York City.

I have been happily playing music for over 12 years now and it has always been the light in my day. Now it is my hope to shed that same light onto you or your child. I am a very friendly and fun teacher with a great deal of professionalism and patience, even more importantly I LOVE teaching and I LOVE music with a passion. I have been playing an instrument since the 4th grade (cello) and, as I learned how music works, was slowly able to pick-up a greater variety instruments with an increasing degree of ease. In high school, I decided to pick-up the guitar just to "have fun and rock out". I joined a band, played in the high school orchestra, joined the high school jazz band and began to practice songwriting and cover songs - at this point, guitar had become my primary instrument. I have been giving voice lessons for the last 6 years. I have taught from Junior High students to adults, new/fresh beginners to intermediate. I am a great encourager and am eager to see you grow in your talents and abilities. I have been singing and receiving private voice lessons since I was 6 yrs. old in church choirs. With a BA in Music, I graduated from William Jessup University, emphasis in voice. From there I went on to teach at a Music Academy and then a music focused college known as "Instituto Canzion". I have received additional instruction from classes and private lessons at Musician's Institute located in Hollywood, CA and continue to gain teaching techniques from their professors. Regardless of experience or goals, singing is one of the most satisfying and fulfilling forms of expression. Our voice provides a critical link with how we interact with the world and is subsequently influenced by our perceptions of how the world views us. Because of this, the study of voice is about much more than the mere physical production of sounds. Our singing voice is influenced by our lifestyle, diet, emotions, confidence, and stress level, all of which contribute to who we are as a singer as well as benefit from singing.

Towards this end, I am of the opinion that all students of singing should be initially taught a voice technique based upon the classical or bel canto style of singing. Once a firm technique is established, students can then branch off into other preferred styles of singing such as musical theater or jazz. I believe that everyone can sing, it is just a matter of learning how to use your unique instrument. From a very young age I was sharing my love of the arts with others as a performer. I grew up with an immense appreciation for all forms of art and found music to be the ideal way to express myself. My extensive education and performance experience has allowed me to cultivate my skills and knowledge so that I can best support each student on their own unique journey of cultivating their authentic singing voice. As a teacher I feel so lucky to have the opportunity to support students by providing the positive and supportive guidance and experiences they need in order to cultivate their own musical gifts.
