Used in classical, rockabilly, bluegrass, jazz, and "unplugged" acoustic rock, the double bass is also referred to as the contra bass or upright bass. Upright Bass Lessons, Double Bass Lessons sometimes can be taught by electric bass guitar instructors, but make note that it is a very different instrument. When picking an upright bass teacher for upright bass lessons, make sure the instructor has experience playing the type of music you want to learn and can teach you the double bass fundamentals of finger picking, use of the bass bow, and how to properly hold the bass.

Where would the lessons take place?
I would really like to learn how to play the upright bass. I love rockabilly/swing country/psychobilly music and I want to be able to play some of that music. I am a complete beginner. So I am looking for an instructor who can teach a beginner like me. With my job, I can probably only do one lesson a week, but I might be able to do more if you think that would be better. Also, considering I am a beginner, I do not own my own bass...yet. If it is something I get into then I will buy my own. So...

I FOUND YOU!!! Don't worry, my hobby is aviation, not stalking colleagues. However, I was wondering if I could put this picture of you and your few words of reference on my website, among Steve Scharf, Olivia Tsui and others as a testimonial page for my massage practice, I would greatly appreciate it if you could write a few words and email it to me at your earliest convenience.
so much
— X. Z. in Los Angeles, CAI am looking for someone that can teach me how to play the upright bass in a Jazz or rockabilly manner. American roots music. I can play by ear as of now, but I don't know the cords or how to read music.
I can slap a little bit, and I guess the main thing I'm trying to get across is that I'm not looking to play classical music with a bow on my double bass
Do you teach private string bass lessons? I am interested in taking lessons. Please send me an email
