Hello!

I'm Nicole and I look forward to working with you! I am a professional drummer/percussionist/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. I studied music at the University of Miami Frost School of music where I received a Bachelor's of Music in Studio Music and Jazz Drum Set Performance. I've performed on Television (Drums, piano, guitar, percussion) on the T.V. shows: "Glee," "Bones," "The Closer," "Oprah." I was the showband drummer on the Norwegian Dawn Cruise Ship in 2006 and the original drummer/percussionist/actor in the Off-Broadway Musical, "Dear Edwina" in New York City.

I grew up in the metro-Detroit suburb of Farmington Hills. After High School, I attended the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music. While attending CCM, I was chosen as the 2007 Sisters and Jazz Drummer for IAJE. With this band I toured NYC, Washington DC, and Costa Rica. I finished my Masters degree from the California Institute of the Arts in 2010. I currently maintain an active performance calendar around LA.
I’ve been teaching private drum lessons and group percussion/ jazz classes for over six years. My teaching and playing experience ranges from marching percussion to classical percussion to all styles of drum set. I’ve had many students place in their high school drum lines or jazz bands and be accepted to all-state band/orchestra/jazz bands. I’ve even had a few students go on to major in music in college. (So proud!) I am also a certified hatha yoga instructor. Looking forward to meeting you!

I've been surrounded by music literally my entire life - both of my parents were professional classical violinists, and my first word was "gig." Before taking up guitar, I'd studied piano and cello; as I focused more on guitar, that also led to interests in electronic music, recording production and engineering, and composition. I went on to obtain a BFA in guitar performance, and have been actively playing, writing, recording, and teaching for many years.

For beginning students, I combine basic playing technique with a solid foundation in musical fundamentals, including standard notation, rhythmic reading, and (when useful) tablature. For more advanced students, my specialty is in applying a number of core concepts (including theory, ear training, and technique) to a wide range of musical styles. I'll typically use examples from rock, jazz, and blues as ways of "connecting the dots" between core music concepts and their real-world application.

I make lesson time fun while giving my students a solid musical foundation to grow upon. I teach a variety of styles and methods. I teach piano, guitar, and bass. I also teach ear training, composition, and music theory. If your goal is to have fun playing your favorite music or write your own songs, I can help achieve your goals.

Stephanie has been singing and studying voice since she was a child, over 20 years! She holds a BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. Stephanie has been lucky enough to study with some of the top teachers in the country and brings the experience gained directly to you!

I have been happily playing music for over 12 years now and it has always been the light in my day. Now it is my hope to shed that same light onto you or your child. I am a very friendly and fun teacher with a great deal of professionalism and patience, even more importantly I LOVE teaching and I LOVE music with a passion. I have been playing an instrument since the 4th grade (cello) and, as I learned how music works, was slowly able to pick-up a greater variety instruments with an increasing degree of ease. In high school, I decided to pick-up the guitar just to "have fun and rock out". I joined a band, played in the high school orchestra, joined the high school jazz band and began to practice songwriting and cover songs - at this point, guitar had become my primary instrument. Still, it was not until after I took my first class on music theory that I knew how much I not only loved the thrill of playing music but the discovery of how it worked. I was inspired by drums early on in my life. My intro was playing along to the stereo hitting the floor with a unmatched pair of sticks. At age 12 I received a drumset and was able emulate some rock drumming style pretty fast. My learning hit a plateau soon after tho. My discipline for drum books and practice was very poor in the beginning.
Attending Musicians Institute in 1987 was the starting point of my commitment to myself to improve and be the best player i can be. I Graduated from MI with Honors and started playing with bands and continued to practice many hours a day. By 1994 I was teaching 30 -60 students a week. I have maintained that schedule for 15 years.
By 1997 I was playing live 2- 4 night a week every week for many years. I have played Thousands of shows in my career. Playing live is one of the best teachers. I help students who want to play on stage, in front of a audience prepare for it.

I hold a Bachelors of Fine Arts from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA. With over 15 years of experience, in both piano and voice, I've had to opportunity to perform, both domestically and internationally, with such great acts as Peter Nero and The Philly Pops, The Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, and many others. I served as lead singer, pianist, and co-songwriter for a number of independent bands covering numerous genres including, but not limited to, Jazz, Pop, Rock, Acoustic, and A Capella.

Since moving to Los Angeles in late 2010, I've immersed myself within the local music community playing a handful of group and solo acts. I currently maintain a home music studio well equipped with musical instruments and music technology. I'm constantly practicing, writing, and recording to improve myself as an artist.

Born in the United States, she found her calling in music at an early age. Her hunger for knowledge and quest for vocal excellence and the ability to sing in multiple languages ( English, Spanish, Japanese and Italian), led her to Musicians Institute in Hollywood, Ca. Here is where she then attained her Associates degree in Vocal Performance after graduating from American Musical Dramatic Academy also in Hollywood, Ca and now pursuing her Bachelors in Music. Her passion for multiple languages and love of music is the desire driving her to share her gifts for teaching young children to open the door to their own musical abilities and hidden artistic desires. She is currently working on her debut album consisting of multiple languages. She is also currently directing a brand new musical consisting of her original music debuting in 2012.

I have been a student of the drums myself for 17 years. I started like many musicians have, learning to play a musical instrument in the school band. I picked up some drum sticks and haven't put them down since. My favorite styles of music are funk and rock. I have studied orchestral drumming, drumset, and music theory for 2 years at the collegiate level. I have taken several private lessons with well renown drummers and clinicians. Ranging from Dom Famularo and Phil Maturano, to Evan Stone and Dave Elitch. Please take the time to look them up and take in their amazing playing abilities. I currently play with 3 bands and record whenever the opportunity arises.

Corinne is a friendly, caring, instructor and provides a stress-free learning environment. All styles, levels and ages are welcome. She teaches pop, musical theatre, classical, and jazz.

Corinne holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Vocal Studies from Michigan State University and enjoys teaching children and adults how to sing. All levels, styles, and ages are welcome. :)

Corinne was a vocal director for Rock and Ridicule, a rock and roll musical performed at the Acme Comedy Theatre in Hollywood. In addition to teaching music privately, Corinne substitute teaches piano and voice at the Hermosa Beach School of Dance and Music.
