Learn how to play the trumpet - take trumpet lessons in your city. While you may find many books on trumpet playing, it is a difficult instrument to learn and your skill can be readily advanced by seeking a skilled and professional trumpet teacher who can show you proper trumpet techniques such as proper breathing, properly developed sound, fingering, and lip exercises to strengthen the facial muscles involved in trumpet playing.
I work with the Chicago Jazz Ensemble and we have a Trumpet Concert coming up on April 11, 2008 at the Harris Theater in downtown Chicago.
