I have been playing guitar for 25 years. I took formal guitar lessons for seven years, have won numerous awards locally and nationally, and have been a professional musician for most of my life. I have studied music theory elaborately, was accepted to both the Berklee School of Music in Boston and the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. I choose to start on a musical career immediately after high school; and did so in my hometown of Detroit. I play/teach, have written, performed, and recorded everything from classic/ indie rock, jazz, classical, flamenco, etc. I currently front my own indie rock project "The Static Dial", as guitarist/vocalist/songwriter.

I teach all ages; from very young children (ages 6-8) to adults. Music samples are available here on my profile.

Children don't learn to read before they can talk. So why should anyone have to read before they can play? That is how music is taught, traditionally and why a huge percentage of students just quit or have a miserable time with piano lessons. Music should be fun. Period.

My only real job is to make sure you have fun and want to learn more. Then you will do the rest and astonish yourself and everyone around you!

I love teaching, simply love teaching! I teach students of all ages. I teach piano, voice, clarinet, and saxophone. I have taught for over 25 years. My students have lots of opportunities for performance, if they choose to. We perform at Nursing Homes, Retirements, Festival of Trees, and Seasonal Recitals. There are at least 2 recitals a year, 1 at Christmas and 1 in the Spring, if enough participation, we often have one in summer with a party afterward. We also participate in the Michigan Music Association competition. I have also had students perform in Disney World in Florida!!! I have been in many musicals such as Annie, Gypsy, Rock Around the Clock. I have put on solo recitals. I am a member of my church choir. My students and I have fun while we are learning music! My name is Erin, and I'm a professional brass instrumentalist and singer who has been gigging and teaching lessons in the metro area for more than ten years.

I was classically trained in music performance and pedagogy at Wayne State University, with a focus on French horn performance and a secondary focus in classical singing. I am a current member of the horn section of the Lake St. Clair Symphony Orchestra.

I am a singer with over 10 years of classical training and have been teaching voice for several years. I have performed in opera, oratorio, musical theater, jazz, folk and Irish ensembles. I can teach repertoire in French, German, Italian and Irish Gaelic. I can also teach beginning piano which is great for some of the younger students who aren't ready for full voice lessons and want to combine both.
I have years of experience singing professionally. I have been lucky enough to tour North America, Asia and Europe with different Irish groups form small bands to performing 8 shows a week in the touring company of the Broadway show Riverdance.
Singing is a huge part of who I am, I have been doing it since before I can remember and I love sharing what I have learned with my students.

I have been singing and playing piano all of my life. I took my first music lesson I was just three years old I never looked back! After high school I earned my Bachelor of Music Performance and my Master of Music. I attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond. It was in Louisiana where I began my teaching career, just over ten years ago.

After returning to Michigan, I began teaching K-12 music in both public and private school settings. I currently maintain a private studio in addition to teaching voice part-time at Oakland Community College and I teach piano through a community outreach program.
