I have been happily playing music for nearly 15 years, and now I have the opportunity to share my enthusiasm with you! I recently graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Music in music education. My two main instruments are trombone and guitar, although I have also taught bass guitar and other brass instruments privately.

My musical journey started with guitar lessons at age 8. I have played many genres of guitar throughout the years, including pop, rock, jazz, and classical music. Between middle school and high school I grabbed at the opportunities to play in the school jazz bands, big bands, marching band, pep band, trombone ensemble, brass ensemble, orchestra, and performed a solo with the concert band. During my college years I lead my trombone charge in concert band, wind ensemble, orchestra, brass ensemble, musicals, operas, community bands, the New Jersey Intercollegiate Honors Band, masterclasses, solos, etc. Aside from my playing career, I had an active teaching career as well. My peers and I exchanged lessons on our major instruments, and I had a studio of students in the area, some of whom have gone on to be college musicians themselves! Hello, my name is Brenda and I recently received my B.M. in Music Education from William Paterson University located in Wayne, NJ. I was a voice major and flute/piano double minor. Throughout high school, I was in orchestra, marching band, and choir, which I feel has helped broaden my musicality at a young age. I have been classically trained in piano for over 10 years, but also have a background in rock/pop/alternative styles. I have trained in voice for 4 years and primarily am familiar with pop/rock styles.

In my spare time, I plan musical benefit shows supporting charities such as "VH1 Save the Music Foundation" & "To Write Love on Her Arms." I started taking piano lessons when I was 4 and then learned the clarinet and played in the band in middle school. In high school I started playing the viola in the orchestra while still playing in the band. I had the best of all music worlds! In college I played in many school and community orchestras in places like Carnegie Recital Hall and even with the NY Philharmonic Orchestra! Orchestral and Chamber Music are my forte.
