With a BM in Vocal Performance from Grand Valley State University in MI and a MM in Voice Performance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts, I have plenty of professional experience to share with my students. I am comfortable teaching all ages and all technical abilities and I specialize in classical and musical theater technique. I especially enjoy working with beginning students; teaching them fundamentals of good singing technique, including breath, tone, resonance, and song repertoire. I also like to work with students who are preparing for collegiate auditions, competitions or other performances.
*** Lesson Details ***
You should expect to receive my undivided attention for the period of time you are purchasing from me. I keep detailed records from our lessons including break through moments, terms and concepts that work for you, and notes on your progress. By doing this, I can help tailor each lesson to your individual needs.
You can expect my help working on repertoire either of your choosing or that we pick out together. If you come to a lesson at my home, we can sit down and discuss music that you would like to perform and we can either find it on my computer or I will have it for your next lesson. You can also expect that my apartment will be clean and a comfortable temperature for your lesson.
You can also expect me to play warm ups and the right hand of most pieces you will be singing, less complicated pieces I may be able to play both hands. I have connections for pianists should you need an accompanist for competitions or performances.

I have a Bachelors Degree from The University of Toledo in Music Education and am 6 credits shy of a Masters Degree from Bowling Green State University in Music Performance. I have been involved in opera, musical theater, large choral works and church music. I've always pushed myself to be proficient in multiple styles of music to accommodate different opportunities I've been presented with.

"My daughter's wedding was weeks away and I had never been able to dance a step. With Jenny's help, I came further than ever before in such short time in any subject."
