I have over 15 years of playing and songwriting experience, and have over 10 years of recording, performing, and teaching experience. Introducing people to new techniques and musical ideas is always rewarding because it reminds me of the magic I have felt when learning a new way to further my musical ability. I have written, recorded and performed original material as well as cover songs both in various groups and by myself on multiple instruments. I have often been the first person people would call when they needed a short notice fill-in musician to perform with their group, both for short term and long term.

Music became my life when I found a dusty guitar in the storage room at age 10. I owe a lot of really cool experiences to the guitar and so many of them center around learning. Teaching is fun and rewarding, but it is also my way of thanking the great teachers I've had.

Music is my passion. I have studied music for over 15 years, and have extensive performance experience as well as experience in coaching, choreography, music composition, and acting and I currently perform on a regular basis.
Born in Seattle, WA, I first came to love music when I was given a Casio keyboard at age 6. Since then, I learned viola, and eventually switched to the violin, ultimately to major in violin performance at the University of Idaho, in Moscow, ID where I also studied voice. I earned a place in various orchestras and choirs through extensive auditions and maintained a 4.0 cumulative grade point average at the University of Idaho.
Composition has always been a passion I have pursued on the side which led me to the University of Colorado at Boulder, where I earned my Masters degree in music composition, completed in the Spring of 2008. I learned how to write acoustic and electronic music as well as studio recording processes.
I worked for the Walt Disney Company through the College Program after which I became a campus representative on Disney's behalf. My performances with the Disney Company include: 1st Violin for the Encore Cast Choir and Orchestra at E.P.C.O.T. in July 2007 and as Mrs. Armstrong for S.T.A.G.E.'s 2007 Christmas Pageant, performed in E.P.C.O.T. December 13-16 in the Circle of Life Pavilion.
Since my return to Boulder in January 2008 I finished my Masters Degree in Music Composition and taught Ear Training and Theory of Music to Freshmen, and Ear Training to Sophomores at the University of Colorado at Boulder until May 2009.
I now reside in Arvada, Colorado, and recently have become a member of a six-person band, called Indigent Row, where I play fiddle and sing lead vocals. We perform throughout Colorado monthly.
I currently teach beginning voice, all levels of violin and viola, sight-reading, theory of music, recording techniques, performance techniques, and song-writing. I am continuing to compose new music and collaborate with others as the opportunity arises. Some of my collaborations have been published and are available online. Please ask for details.
