I have been performing on stage since I was 8 years old! My passion is performing and art in every form. I love to help people find their voice and build their confidence on stage and in the "real" world.

I am a trained vocalist, pianist, percussionist, dancer and actor. I have performed in venues all over the country and I have worked with LL Cool J and Mariah Carey.

I am a 3 time Emmy award winner and pro performer in Las Vegas. I LOVE to share my love of music with children and adults!! I promise you will not only learn but Love to learn and perform! I have been active in the entertainment industry since the age of 12, when I gave my first professional performance. Prior to that I was already being introduced to music with years of guitar, and then vocal instruction. I do not remember a time of my life when I was not singing somewhere; in the house, in the yard, in the classroom. That is perhaps why I identify so well with the young people who gather so much enjoyment from "just singing" at every opportunity. I studied professionally for over 10 years with renown soprano and voice teacher Sylvia Jensen, who was instrumental in the enhancement of my vocal knowledge and technique. She is now the Director of Education for the Miss Ohio pageants of the Miss America competitions, elevating many young ladies to the national spotlight. At age 14, I auditioned for, and was added to cast of a network television variety program, "The Gene Carroll Show", that was a television institution for over 30 years in the midwest. I started taking piano lessons at age 6, learned to read music and play mostly classical, my first pop song was Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves by Cher, remember that great riffat the beginning? I was beyond thrilled to actually play it myself. These are the kind of experiences I seek to provide my students, enjoying the thrill of actually making music, not just going over mundane head information. I do combine learning by ear with reading music, teaching theory along with the music making as well. Music is really simple, repetitive and easy to learn. It's a life long gift you give yourself and others. I started singing seriously in 9th grade, I had the greatest teacher, in fact he turned my life around because I had been running with the wrong crowd, but now that he told me I could sing I had a reason to straighten myself up and he made me feel like my talent was worth something. I grew in confidence and entered college as a double major, voice and piano. I enjoy teaching...

All of my past experiences lead into my real passion: Teaching. Whether it's conducting throughout Europe or singing as featured soloist with the Stuttgart Symphony Orchestra and Oregon Symphony, I use past experience to teach students about musical and healthy singing techniques. I am currently a Doctoral candidate at UNLV. I am excited to incorporate new instructional techniques into my teaching that I learned from conventions and coursework.

Most of all, I believe that singing should be a fun expression of yourself. It should be an outlet for creation no matter the skill or age level of the singer.

I hold a Master of Education degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where I specialized in Secondary Vocal Music. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree in Music (Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting) from Oregon State University. I am an active choral director and singer in the Las Vegas Valley and sing opera semi-professionally.

I often wondered how singers sang. So I took the journey, and learned. I attended California Polytechnic University, Pomona and got started on the road to learning how to sing. I continued the journey at Arizona State University in their Masters of Music graduate program. At that point I had some skills and landed a job with Sesame Street Live as the Character of Professor Art, travelling the country singing and dancing with the Muppets. Then I landed in Las Vegas where I performed for people from around the world as a Gondolier. I have also had the pleasure of performing in foreign languages in the Operas "La Boheme" and "La Traviata". Learning to sing is not an over-night thing. It takes time.
