About Me
Thanks for checking out my profile! I would love to help you discover, strengthen and improve your voice.
Here's a little bit about me: I attended Syracuse University where I received a bachelor's degree in vocal performance. I then traveled down south to get my Master's from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. I served as Administrative Director for the Gregg Smith Singers' Adirondack Festival of American Music in Lake Placid, NY and performed with the all-female a cappella ensemble, The Mandarins, for whom I was director and vocal percussionist, as well as a Varsity Vocals award-winning soloist and arranger. I've played the role of Marcellina in Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro, as well as lead roles in Anything Goes, Me and My Girl, Annie Warbucks and Oliver. I have performed with the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, traveled internationally with the Southwestern Jazz Combo and have been a featured artist on the FEBC radio station in Seoul, Korea. For the past few years I...
The guitar has the capacity to energize or to sooth. My desire is to help you encounter and master it's power!
PHILOSOPHY
I enjoy helping my students maximize their potential as musicians. Whether their longing is to simply enjoy guitar as a recreational pastime, or they desire (or have) a career in performance, I endeavor to help my students achieve their personal musical goals. You are encouraged to strive to do your part to the best of your ability: that is, consistent and regular practice. Discipline is vital to progress, and without it, the experience would be shallow and unsatisfying. But with skilled, caring instruction and self-motivation, you will encounter the might of the guitar and the beauty of it! I will be cheering you on and supporting you every step of the way!
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Although I've always been a fan of British invasion, my childhood guitar teacher told me he wasn't going to teach me "any of that rock 'n' roll garbage." He was...
Hello, and thanks for reading my profile! I've had music in my life ever since the age of 3 when my parents, both pianists and organists, first sat me down at the piano. I joined the church choir at age 8 and began to play piano and organ at church a few years after that. Throughout middle and high school I studied piano with a Westminster Choir College instructor in New Jersey. I then went on to graduate from Millersville University with a B.A. in Spanish and French. After college I taught K-12 Spanish before staying home with our own children. And now for the past ten years I've worked as a church organist and choir director.
I really do enjoy working with children and teaching them how fun music can be! Every student has a unique way of learning, and I always strive to discover it so that all students get the most out of their lessons with me.
I have 16 years musical experience, performing, and writing. My teaching methods are very demonstrative, I am very disciplined in my art and can help my students become amazing guitarists! I love working with children, and young adults. I strive to broaden my student's musical horizons.
All of my students are taught one on one at my studio at 415 Delaware avenue in Palmerton.
Additionally my students receive 24/7 online support via my website. fretprodigy.com

About Me
Samantha started taking piano lessons at age 3 from her mother, who was also a music teacher. She played piano continuously through school, and also learned to play clarinet, guitar, flute, trumpet and sax, often playing different instruments in her school's band. She also learned the violin and cello all before graduating high school and starting college. She started teaching younger students while she was still in High school.
She attended Pensacola Christian College in Florida and majored in Piano Performance under the watchful eye of Mr. Daniel Nagy from Brazil. She transferred to Clearwater Christian College, also in FL, her Junior year to study with Dr. Craig Ralston. There she graduated with a BS in Music.
After graduation she took a position at Seffner Christian Academy, near Tampa. There she taught Beginning and Intermediate Band and assisted the Advanced Band class. She also coached the JV Girls Basketball team and was Assistant Coach on the Varsity, as...
Student Feedback
Maureen C,
Wonderful!
Samantha D. is wonderful. My kids play so well for only 1 year's
worth of lessons. I would highly recommend her to anyone! I am blown
away by the music that comes out of the Piano from a 7 and 11 year old.
My 11 year old signed up for her first music competition at school. If
you told me one year ago I would have girls playing a piano, I would not
believe you. I truly thought they would quit after a couple of months.
Not the case. They are musically talented and still love it. Thanks to
Samantha D! They are now thriving in the in-school music program.
Thank you, TakeLessons, for filtering out the best teachers. When a
child has a small window of interest, you have to grab it the right
way...the wrong teacher would not have given me these results.

Pat K's Review
My granddaughter, Katelynn, enjoys her trumpet lessons with Samantha. Samantha is caring, seems to enjoy teaching & has patience; which is needed since Katelynn needs a little extra attention learning things

Maureen C,
Highly Recommend her!
My daughters (10, & 6) have only had three lessons with Samantha! They love it. Her nature is kind and welcoming. She can tell how much they can handle so doesn't overwhelm them with too much theory or pieces to play. She strikes a nice balance. My 10 year old started composing her own song when she became bord with the beginner book! Samantha has added to this excitement and changed her teaching style to match my daughters learning style. My daughter was beaming! Samantha has taught her how to take the next pieces of theory and add it to her song. She also ordered music my daughter enjoys like Selena Gomez. My 6 year old is excited every week and doesn't want to be late. My husband and I thought this would be just another thing to start and quit. So far they are going strong!
Did you know that some of the most successful music artists had music lessons at one point in their careers? You’ve got that right. For example, Kirk Hammett of Metallica and guitar icon Steve Vai both had musical instruction. You see, these two rockers were once students of Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist Joe Satriani. In addition, you’ll also find that Grammy award winner Taylor Swift, Paramore lead singer Hayley Williams and teen pop superstar Miley Cyrus are all open about taking voice lessons with professional voice coaches. So if someday you want to become as successful as these music icons, why not consider enrolling yourself in a music class of your own. In this pursuit we can be of service to you by offering you our Allentown music lessons.
