Hallie C. Tampa, FL

Nothing else tingles the spine like a beautifully executed masterwork performed by an excellent flutist. I have been lucky enough to have been trained by some of the world's most renowned flute performers and teachers, and love to pass on their and my own knowledge to new generations of flute players. For the raw beginner to music, flute can seem a bit daunting at first if a good teacher specifically for the flute is not there to help out along the way. Same is as with established students on the flute. Sometimes there are issues in playing which makes one feel discouraged. I feel confident that my teaching techniques can help overcome any of these issues to help bring out the best in every flutist.

About Hallie

Have you always wanted to learn how to play an instrument, but never knew where to begin? I can help you learn your instrument, and learn how to play the music that you love whether it be flute, piccolo, violin, viola, or cello. I can help you enjoy music.

Having grown up in a musical family with my mother a professional violinist, I have been exposed to the joys of music since childhood. I learned how to play percussion and string instruments from when I was six years old, and later joined the high school band playing flute. I loved playing flute and piccolo so much that I decided to take this as my career and went to Interlochen Arts Academy where I excelled in my performance. I later went to Prague Conservatory and Czech Budweiss Conservatory and played with the Prague Film ...

great teacher

my son has really been enjoying hand drum lessons with phil. he's courteous and kind, and is good at engaging my almost-six year old and keeping him on task. he also is laid back and creates an atmosphere of fun, letting my son take the lead at times and being very collaborative.
Yegues S. Lakeland, FL

This is my primary instrument in which I am also getting a performance certificate in. I know the ups and downs as far as technique, repertoire, styles, and maintenance.

About Yegues

I have taken flute lessons from the flute professor at FSU as well as guitar lessons from Dr. Leo Welch here at FSU. I have given multiple lessons and master classes on both flute and guitar. I have also been a music theory tutor for many students. I have a lot of experience with both giving and receiving lessons, so I have learned many ways to adapt to any situation.

I love laughing and making jokes, which is one of the most important aspects of any teacher. Lessons should be something to look forward to rather than dreading to spend time practicing. I do prefer being more laid back as a teacher, but still know when it's time to get more serious about the work.

As always Yegues is a very patient teacher. When I feel overwhelmed he is able to assure me I am making progress and let me know what I am doing is is difficult only because I don't know it and that after awhile it will all come together. Thanks Yeagues

Yegues is a phenomenal multi-instrumental teacher, specializing in adaptive teaching styles. Yegues had the ability to adapt our lesson to any method that would further my individual learning goals. He and I met for several months during which time I received real results and nothing but high praise for my teacher.

I have been teaching flute for 24 years and my student all get superiors at solo competitions. I start with the Rubank Method for flute and go on from there. Learning the fundamentals is very important, but we also learn music the student wants to play.

About Randall

I have been teaching music for over 20 years and playing as a professional musician for even longer. I know how to get the best out of my students and have fun doing it. I'm a University of South Florida grad and I have worked and studies in Las Vegas and at the Berklee school of music. My students constantly win superiors at contest and sit in the upper chairs in band and orchestra. Lets have some fun and make some music.

*** Lesson Details ***
In a laid back fun way we will learn the fundamentals of our instrument. I start out with the All For Strings series of books and add the Suzuki method books for some tunes. In 3 to 6 months you will be playing the music you like and having fun and learning new things while you do.

Randall makes sure that you don't persist with any bad habits that will prevent you from learning how to play the instrument properly. He also gives you simple analogies why some things need to be done a certain way...and as a side benefit, you will learn about music history as it relates to what you are doing.

Christina is an excellent teacher. She is very detailed when
explaining how to play a song in the correct time signature.
I like the fact that she does not move forward until I have
learned where my problem areas are; for example timing.
I would highly recommend Christina as a piano teacher.
