Great teacher

I had been teaching myself how to play guitar for a few years and felt like I was not making any progress, so I decided to take some lessons. I feel very fortunate that I was able to find Chuck and work with him.

Chuck is a very talented musician and teacher. He communicates and explains musical concepts in a way that's easy to understand. Lessons were challenging, but in a good way, and Chuck is always friendly and supportive. He gave me great recommendations for what to work on in practice and always had listening suggestions that reinforced what we were working on.

I wish that I had started taking lessons with him sooner, because I learned and improved more as a musician and guitarist in 2 months of lessons with Chuck than in the 2-3 years I had been teaching myself how to play. I can't recommend him enough, especially for beginners or someone who needs a little help to take the next step in their musical journey.

Returning to fundamentals as an adult learner is very difficult and challenging but, at least in my case, very necessary. Annie has been a wonderful piano and voice teacher guiding me through this process - patient and kind, tolerant of my poor practice habits, and able to help me work on all aspects of my music. I would highly recommend her to any prospective student, and hope to continue working with her well into the future.

Go for it!

Being very experienced with teaching to both children and adults of all backgrounds and ambitions, Anne is a very skilled and smart teacher. Her pedagogy has obviously been refined over many years and is clever and efficient yet easy-going and painless. She mixes theory and more academic learning with ear-training, relying as well on your more natural instincts, in order to equip you with the varied skills of a complete musician. She really tailors the teaching to your specific goals and level, as well. All this in a very gentle, easy and genuinely caring way. And always with a smile. Just go for it!

Anne cares about her students

Anne is an awesome vocal instructor. She focused on exactly what I needed to work on and helped me stay focused every time I sang. My friends have noticed a significant improvement in my singing in such a short time thanks to Anne's instruction. Thank you Anne!

Brent B. Quincy, MA

About Brent

25 years of playing the piano has taught me the importance of being given lessons at a young age. (I encourage older beginners to learn piano as well). Lessons will include music theory, music writing, composing (if the student is so inclined), and performance. 30 min. a day of practice, minimum, is a must. For me, teaching piano lessons will be an extension of my prior work as a private tutor. I look forward to the opportunity to work with students (and parents) to provide a challenging and progressive platform.

About Christopher

Welcome! My name is Christopher S. and I am a classical guitarist, song writer, and experienced music teacher. I began learning music when I was nine on the piano however by the time I turned twelve I discovered my passion for the guitar. I began by learning songs and playing in band with some of my school friends. This was the start of my journey into music. I started with blues, rock, and pop music but I quickly moved into more complex genres such as funk and Jazz music.

In college I began my studies of the historically endless and huge world of classical music. This is also when I began teaching and taking students of guitar. I studied classical music at Hofstra University and completed my degree at Humboldt State University in Northern California. After earning my degree I began ...
