It is with great pleasure and with no reservations whatsoever, that I can recommend Luba as a piano teacher for both children and adults. Although her curricula vitae speaks for itself in terms of her qualifications and experience, it is the personal qualities of a teacher that are of the utmost importance in developing a student/teacher relationship that brings out the fullest potential and desire to learn of the student. Luba's warm and kind demeanor belies her exacting requirements of her students. As a pianist who has attended Luba’s student recitals, I am always impressed to see how well-prepared and confidently they perform. Even the beginners play with beautiful phrasing and musicality. One can tell they have studied with a teacher who has worked hard to impart a strong sense of organic expression that music, performed with care and understanding, can evoke. As a concert pianist, Luba understands well the difficulties, both physically and psychologically of performance and is most supportive of the goals of her students. She is also interesting and caring and uses her sense of humour to entice her students to keep working through the difficult times, and keep coming back for lessons.

"Mrs. Luba" has come to be one of the most positive role models in our daughter's life. Over the last two years, Luba has instilled in our daughter (now aged 8) a deep appreciation and love for music and an understanding of the importance of setting goals.

In addition to her obvious rich musical knowledge, Luba is enthusiastic, caring, warm and understands how to teach. She has worked with my daughter on troublesome topics and knows when and how to challenge her. She makes each and every lesson fun while creating a real sense of accomplishment. Rather than simply plow through songs, Luba also works with her on piano technique and music fundamentals that will hasten her development, particularly as she advances. Finally, Luba is always extremely accommodating and cognizant of our hectic schedule. Our daughter recently scored "Outstanding" in the 2014 Music Educators Association Annual Audition, thanks in no small measure to Luba.

We are absolutely thrilled to have found Luba for our daughter's piano instruction and hope to continue our long relationship together.

I started taking lessons with Luba when I was 7 years old, and stayed with her for over 10 years (until I left for college). Now, despite no longer taking piano lessons, I still find great enjoyment in playing piano, and I attribute my love and knowledge of music to Luba. Luba's piano lessons were truly invaluable. She believes in a holistic approach, and understands that it is important for a student to be able to tackle a piece both technically and emotionally. She patiently goes over music theory, delving into the whys and hows of composition, helping her students understand the piece technically. Her explanations and demonstrations on the techniques with which to play a piece were clear and informative, and with practice I found my technical skills improving substantially. However, unlike many other musicians I've met who have mastered technique but failed to apply emotion, Luba ensures that a student is also able to connect with the music. She encouraged me when I chose to learn pieces I liked, and guided me when I struggled to emotionally connect with certain composers. She also taught me the value of practicing (which many children dislike doing, myself included at the time), and gave advice on how to actually practice and improve. With Luba, I consistently received a grade of "Outstanding" (the highest grade level) at the Music Educators Association's annual audition, and placed in numerous piano competitions around the state. I went from barely having any knowledge of music and piano to being able to both learn and sight read complex pieces. It's so satisfying for your efforts to pay off and to finally reach a level where you can pick any piece and know that you have the skills to learn it and play it well. Without Luba, I would not have reached such a mastery of piano and I am extremely grateful for all of her help over the years. Luba is a fantastic piano teacher and any student would be lucky to take lessons with her!

Rina is great----she challenges me, is encouraging and helps me bring my personal life into my music. I am an older adult complete beginner and Rina works very well with me. She has also provided recommended resources for finding special sheet music and other music tools. I am in the very early stages but already see improvement in my ability vs. what I tried to do on my own.

Wonderful!

Rina, has been great, she has helped me prepare for auditions for school. She sends an overview of what we did in class. She reminds me of exercises and practice to do. Over all I'm very happy with her. And I gladly recommend her.

Rina is such a great teacher, Gia has learned so much since she started coming to Rina. Rina teaches from her heart, and my daughter loves coming every week. She turned down going surf fishing with her father, not to miss a week with Rina. I highly recommend Rina for a Piano teacher, she is the best.....

Best Guitar Instructor I've Ever Hada

If you are looking for the best guitar instructor, you need to study with Jeff. I have been taking lessons with Jeff now for almost a year, actually this coming February will be exactly one year. The best decision I ever made was hooking up with Jeff. I am studying fingerstyle acoustic guitar with Jeff. Let me tell you that he has helped me improve my guitar playing 100 fold. He has me playing James Taylor songs, which I thought I could never accomplish at my age, which is 60 this January. So it’s never too late make your dream come true when you take lessons with Jeff.

Great Teacher

I'm a beginner and Jeff has great patience with me. He let me catch up lessons at my speed and makes sure I'm playing well.
I'm also learning to read music from him.
He is very encouraging and patiently clears any doubts I have while playing. He points out mistakes and makes sure I clear it before going to the next lesson. I look forward to my lessons with him every week as it makes me happy and more confident while I play guitar.

I went to Rutgers: Mason Gross School of the Arts for Vocal Performance as a freshman in Fall 2008; by the Spring of 2009, I was no longer a music student. Singing quickly became a laborious activity instead of an enjoyable past time; I felt as if I became incapable of adequately expressing myself because I was bogged down by a pretentious atmosphere and a teacher who lacked any sort of gravitational pull. Justin is the complete opposite.

I started studying with Justin in September 2013. He's so incredibly realistic. He lacks any form of pretense and his personality is so magnetic. Every time I walk into my lesson, I'm ready to go. He creates an atmosphere that is just so easy to adjust to, and he listens. I'm so grateful to have found him. In a little less than a year, he's helped me restore confidence in my vocal ability and gain back years of lost discipline in such a short time. He will hold you accountable without alienating you and for me that's invaluable. If you're looking for someone warm, but disciplined, Justin is your guy.

Working with Justin has helped me make enormous strides musically! Our lessons have transformed my voice, prepared me for the competitive world of singing, and given me the confidence and knowledge needed to succeed. In just one or two lessons I progressed in ways I never thought I could and opened up to different techniques that I did not even know existed. Justin is fun and easy to work with. His encouragement and spirit will push you to reach new heights and truly refine your vocal technique.

I have been taking lessons with Jimmy for 3 years and could not ask for a better teacher. He makes my interest grow and has a wealth of knowledge and the patience to share it. He challenges me regularly. I only wish I had found him sooner as previous instructors never had the flexibility or patience that Jimmy has.
Learning in such a relaxed environment has worked very well for me. My son has since started lessons with Jimmy as well and it has become a great experience for both of us.

Jimmy's patience with my 6 year-old son was remarkable. I was reluctant to start him so young, but Jimmy explained things in a way he could understand, and always encouraged him to ask questions. My son learned so much, and he was really excited to learn, thanks to Jimmy's calm demeanor and skill as a teacher. I would recommend Jimmy to ANYONE that wants to learn, he is a wonderful teacher!

Jimmy is just unbelievable. He's friendly, and always finds the positive in the process of teaching. I've studied guitar, and recorded vocals in his studio.
He makes himself available, and is gracious when circumstances prevents the lesson for that week. Given my busy schedule, I've had to stop the guitar lessons. However, I just saw that they may be able to be done online?...If that's the case, please contact me Jimmy. I'd love to re-start asap.
