I have over 20 years of experience as a teacher and performer, as well as many years of music training. (I received a B.A in music composition from Brooklyn College.) My students have told me that I am compassionate, patient, and a great motivator. I can't wait to get started teaching you!

Born and raised in LA County, I was brought to the east coast on scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music where I was part of the inaugural class of Danilo Perez's Global Jazz Institute. Since graduating I have been living and working primarily in New York City as a drummer, teacher, accompanist and producer.

Growing up in a musical household, I got my first pair of sticks and a practice pad as a 9-year-old. A year later, with the addition of a real drum set to my arsenal, I already knew I was hooked. Music has a way of comforting and teaching, and sharing that with students is a both a privilege and responsibility. I feel thankful to be able to teach and play for a living and want to spread that to my students.

Lynn performs regularly with Thought, The Al Chez Brothers of Funk band, The Saxophone Cartel, HiLoFi, the Funkey Monkeys, and her own Duo, Trio, and Quartet. In addition, she has been fortunate to work and perform with Dick Oatts, Wycliffe Gordon, Tom Politzer & Mic Gillete (Tower of Power), Les McCann, Mike Gordon (Phish), the Temptations, Randy Brecker, Harold Jones (Count Basie), Dave Rivello, Mocean Worker, Jazz Mafia, the Underground Horns, and La Buya.
Lynn holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Specializing in both Jazz and Classical saxophone, she has studied under the direction of Walt Weiskopf, Dave Schiavione, Fred Sturm, David Demsey, Chienkwan Lin, Ramon Ricker and Chris Azzara.

I am a professional drummer and private instructor known for my diversity and interest in performing all styles of music. I began playing drums when I was 10 years old. I studied privately throughout middle school with John Crocken and played in several rock bands with my friends. I began to take music seriously when I was introduced to jazz at Archbishop Curley High School. At Curley I played in the jazz ensemble, jazz lab band, percussion ensemble, concert band, pit orchestras, and many small group jazz combos which earned me the Woody Herman jazz award. While I was in high school I began studying privately with Barry Dove. Barry worked with me on marimba, timpani, frame drumming, hand percussion, drum set and snare drum technique, as well as introducing me to world music. I'm a professional drummer and instructor living in Brooklyn, NY. I attended Purchase College as a Jazz Performance major, and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Music has always been a huge part of my life ever since I can remember, and playing the drums is one of the most gratifying things I've ever experienced. I eat, sleep and breathe music, and love to bring happiness to my students by giving them the knowledge and techniques necessary to make music. I will help you get what you want out of these lessons, whether you want to learn to play drums as a hobby, are looking for a therapeutic outlet, or are serious about becoming a professional. I began playing the drums over ten years ago. What started as a past-time quickly grew into my greatest passion. I have always had a great love of Rock music, the first drummers who inspired me were Chad Smith, John Bonham and Patrick Wilson, so I spent years gaining this foundation in popular styles. In college, however, my focus shifted to Jazz. Studying with Billy Hart at the Oberlin Conservatory, where I got my BM in 2011, opened up my understanding of the instrument to extend to all musical styles. The technical training I got from learning Jazz, as well the the philosophical understanding of the instrument I got from Billy, have subsequently moved into all aspects of my playing, no matter what the style or musical situation. I would not be the person I am today if music wasn't the focal point in my life as it is. Not only do I absolutely love performing and studying music myself, but I adore teaching as well. Part of the musical experience is taking what you hear and what you learn from others and building on it to create your own musical contributions. I take the gifts other teachers and musicians have given me very seriously and subsequently feel the great importance of imparting my knowledge unto others.

Whether you want to be a professional, or just be competent enough to enjoy yourself, we all practice, study technique and gain knowledge about music with really only one goal in mind: To have all the tools necessary to express ourselves adeptly through music. All the technique in the world will not make you a great musician. At the same time, you can be extremely creative and knowledgeable, but if you don't have the technique and vocabulary needed to express your ideas, you will find yourself...

My name is Noel B., and I am a drummer living and working in New York City.
I have been fortunate to perform with jazz legends such as John Scofield, Pascal Niggenkemper, Andy Milne, Dave Pietro, Dave Douglas and the list continues. These shows were at many first rate jazz clubs including: Blue Note, The Jazz Gallery, The Stone, The Tea Lounge, Tomi Jazz, Cornelia St. Cafe, The Falcon, Twins Jazz, Trumpets Jazz and many others. While receiving my Masters degree at NYU, I was also employed as an adjunct music faculty member.

In 2012 I was selected as one of Half Note Records musicians in the "Promising Artist Series." The award included responsibilities such as giving concerts and leading clinics.

DAVID began his musical journey studying piano and guitar at the age of ten. Soon to follow he began singing and performing in middle school choir and musical theatre where he excelled and found a love for performing. A connection to dance and physical movement has always been a part of David's life. At 2 years old his grandmother bought him a pair of tap shoes and started teaching him basic dance styles. The big revelation happened when David discovered the drums. With the combination of dance, rhythm and physicality, it was a perfect match, and David he knew he had found his instrument and his calling.

His formal education began at California State University of Long Beach where he studied classical marimba, snare drum, Brazilian percussion, West African percussion, and Calypso. I have been playing drums for nearly 15 years, teaching for 10 years, and am currently playing professionally around the NYC area. I graduated from the Manhattan School of Music in 2011 with a degree in jazz performance. There I studied with many excellent teachers notably John Riley, Samir Chatterjee, and Rogerio Boccato who taught me many styles of music from around the globe. In addition to freelancing around NYC, I have recently been touring and recording with Wilder Maker (brooklyn indie rock) and Natural Selection. (pop/funk) Through my many musical experiences, I have learned (and am still learning!) how a drummer best functions within a group and this is what I wish to impart to any and everyone. A great drummer can make any band sound good and I want to make you a great drummer!

Sharon is a professional musician from the small town of Rehovot, Israel. She fell in love with music at the age of 10, when her father bought her her first drumset. At that time she was studying in Africa with a local, playing everything by ear and watching videos of her favorite drummer, Steve Gadd, to learn his magical paradiddle tricks. After the family uprooted to the United States, Sharon joined her high school Jazz Band, Orchestra, Marching Band, and Percussion Ensemble. It was only then, in her junior year of high school that she realized that she did not want to do anything else but music. In 2011, Sharon graduated Berklee College of Music with honors and is currently teaching, performing, composing, and... well, living life in Brooklyn NY.

I'm Jacob, and I'm a Professional Drummer/Teacher in New York City.

I graduated Berklee College of Music in 2010, and have been living in New York ever since. I've toured the world, have performed with Jimmy Buffett, John Hampson (Nine Days), Greg Camp (Smash Mouth), and in 2012 I performed in a Broadway show called "One Man, Two Guvnors." I also have my own Recording Studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where I record for various artists all over the world, as well as teaching.

I feel I can bring my years of expertise in Performance, Recording, and knowing what it takes to be a professional into my lessons. Whether it's starting with a beginner or working with someone to tweak aspects of their already existing playing, I will make it my number one goal to make sure when you come to me, we're going to have Fun, enjoy ourselves, and learn everything you need to be the best drummer you can be.
