Alexandra P. Princeton, NJ

About Alexandra

I am interested in teaching private lessons to each individual student - taking into account your goals, strengths, weaknesses, and background. I will never teach by a method that does not account for the unique qualities of each student. I use what I have learned through many years of musical study to teach you in the most efficient and beneficial way, based on YOUR needs.

As a voice student, I will ask you about your taste in music, what your goals are as a singer, and encourage you to suggest repertoire you'd like to learn. In addition, I will do an assessment of your entire voice - from posture and breathing to articulation and expression - and introduce repertoire that will help you become a better singer. I am comfortable teaching pieces written in English, Latin, ...

great teacher

I've never taken voice lessons before, so I didn't know what to expect. But Allie is great, very likeable. She really takes your preferences into considerations. We do breathing exercises, vocal warmups, and work on several songs at a time. I love the range of songs Allie has me work on: an Italian classical piece, a French pop song, a Broadway piece, a jazz piece, etc.

Dominic M. Middlesex, NJ

About Dominic

Dominic M., America’s Tenor, has been singing in one form or another since the age of four. As a young man, Dominic began honing his skills of singing and acting through Community Theater. His voice and career were forever changed when vocal coach and mentor, Suzanne Ferris-Hammer introduced him to the great voice of Mario Lanza. From the moment Dominic heard the voice of Mario Lanza, he began to fashion his own voice in that image.

Dominic continued to expand his career by developing his own show, which includes the songs of Mario Lanza in their original keys. These shows were held in some of the finest NYC Cabarets such as Don’t Tell Mama, Duplex Café, Danny’s Skylight Café, Café 44, and Eighty Eights. He has also performed these shows at The ...

About Inbal

Hello. my name is Inbal and I am very happy to introduce my self, hoping we get the chance to work together.

I am a musician. For many years I teach piano and music theory.
I enjoy it very much:) I love to share my knowledge.
Like the Sages said, the good teacher is he who studies from his students, so I always try to learn something from my students.
I've graduated the high academy for music in Jerusalem in 2010. I've also graduated MA in musicology at the Hebrew university in 2012. Beside playing classic music I love to improvise and sing, accompany myself and jam with other musicians.

My approach to teaching piano is that the piano is first of all the student's friend, and not just an instrument we try to master. From my experience, I find that every student ...

Inbal came to our home to teach our 7 and 9 year old boys. She was always reliable, consistent and very patient. She is so nice and perfect for teaching children. She sought out piano songs they would enjoy learning. Inbal would also send them video clips from the internet to engage them in interesting songs and expose them to multiple instruments. She's a gem.

I had studied classical piano for about 8 years as a child, but hadn't had a lesson in more than 50 years, and had only played very sporadically since then.

Inbal, in just a few lessons has given me a really start at getting back up to snuff.
Carla U. Somerset, NJ

About Carla

Music is my LIFE!

After 24 years of teaching at music camps, music stores, 3 colleges and my home, I completely understand that the lessons are all about YOU, the student: what you want to learn, taught to you in a way that works for your brain and personality.

And if you don't know exactly what you want to learn, that's OK. We can figure that out together as we go along learning the basics.

I help students learn to play songs by artists they like.

I also help students write songs, or put chords to their existing lyrics.

For those who are interested, I teach note-reading (not required) and theory (not required) and ear training (not required).

The lessons are always tailored towards your (the student's) goals.

I also teach classical and fingerstyle ...

It has been great having Carla as my guitar teacher. Although I have taken lessons from two other teachers, I have found Carla's teaching methodology to be the best as she teaches you those most important basics that sometimes get passed over by other teachers.
As I am an adult student, life sometimes gets in the way of my practicing, but Carla is understanding of this and consistently provides that ever important encouragement and positive reinforcement for whatever progress I have made.
Aside from her musical talents, Carla is very personable, down to earth, with an excellent sense of humor that she incorporates in her teaching style.
I highly recommend Carla as a teacher.

Jimmy is the best vocal teacher around. I call him my vocal coach because his teaching is more like coaching. He allows you to develop at your own pace. He does not rush you. His patience and diligence to help you develop your abilities as a singer demonstrates how much he cares for you to be your very best in a short period of time. His recording studio is state of the art in that you feel you are a professional singer recording your music. He is the best out there!

I've had lessons with Jimmy for a year. I didn't talk with him as much during our lessons in the beginning but soon, I was able to laugh and really start talking with him. As a teacher, Jimmy makes sure that you're comfortable learning with him from day 1. He slowly eases into the learning of music theory and how the guitar works. He makes sure that you stay interested while learning what's necessary about music. You can tell that he has a enormous passion for music, that he's even made mine evolve to the point where not only am I learning how to play the guitar, but singing as well! Having learned from him, I was able to stay relaxed and comfortable. He makes sure to understand the way you learn and uses it to help drive your passion to the right direction. Learning from him was one of the best choices I've made. And choosing him as your teacher will be one of the greatest experiences you'll have!

My 9 year old daughter has been taking lessons with Jimmy for about six months. She has learned a lot about the guitar in general, as well as music as a whole, and I love to hear her strumming away in her bedroom. Jimmy is a patient and kind teacher, he's very good with kids and my daughter looks forward to her lessons with him all week. I am astounded by how much she's learned in just six short months.
