About Me
Amanda has worked with people of all ages, from young to old, as counselor, mentor, advocate and instructor. She began by teaching preschool and school-aged children, and has worked with developmentally disabled adults across a spectrum of ages and disorders to reach their goals of completing higher education and attaining paying and satisfying professions. Most recently, Amanda has worked with adults who became addicted to drugs to end their relationship with drugs and alcohol and not only regain housing and find jobs, but also pursue and complete higher educational degrees. Amanda graduated from Oakland University of Rochester, Michigan, in 2008 with a degree in Psychology.
She is a partner in Mindmap LLC, the first state-certified training company that provides education, training and certification to Peer Recovery specialists, where people who are graduates of rehabilitation programs learn to be a Peer Mentor for others still going through the program, using their...
