I have been working with children since the age of nineteen, starting off as a counselor in a day camp and eventually as a summer camp music specialist. After college I started a music teaching career, teaching in public and private schools. For the past fourteen years I have taught private lessons in drums, guitar, and piano as well as doing preschool music performances at local libraries.

My career as a musician goes back even further than my teaching career. I have been playing drums in bands since early high school and have been playing professionally since the age of twenty. I have played with blues legend Joe Louis walker and many local professional bands.

I've been playing piano & drums for 35 years and am currently playing professionally in the Hartford CT area. I am also skilled in playing guitar and bass, as well as having experience with theory, ear training, composition & recording.

I went to college at The Hartt School in West Hartford Connecticut where I studied studied classical percussion performance & piano.

While at Hartt, I studied classical percussion, ear training & jazz drumming with renowned tympanist and educator Alexander Lepak, co-author of the world-famous Friese-Lepak Timpani Method. I studied classical, jazz and rock percussion with Gene Bozzi, Principal Timpanist in the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. I was born on December 15, 1965. My father Al was a prominent drum teacher on long Island who taught hundreds of people throughout his career. My musical background started with going on jobs with my dad from the time I was five. I would always sit right behind his floor tom. He took me to almost every gig he did. I began sitting in as much as possible and played my first paying club date at nine years old. He entered me in the drum corps where I learned a lot about playing with other drummers and also entered me in various drum competitions. I came in first place in the state for the Louie Bellson National Drum Contest when I was 11 but failed miserably when my sight reading was not good enough to get me to the next level. I worked real hard to get my reading up to par after that.

Russell F. is currently a freshman at New York University, majoring in Percussion Studies, and currently is studying with Professor Simon Boyar. He just recently graduated from Half Hollow Hills High School West. He has also graduated from the Juilliard Pre-College Program under the instruction of three teachers: Jonathan Haas, Pablo Rieppi, and Greg Giannascoli. He began studying drum set and rudimental snare drum at the age of seven, and began studying marimba and timpani in his sophomore year of high school. Russell has attended the New York Summer Music Festival and was a Music Staff Intern at the USDAN Center for the Creative and Performing Arts. This past February he placed second in the Percussive Arts Society Marimba Competition held at NYU’s Weekend of Percussion. He is currently active as a composer and performer in many NYU ensembles and is excited to pursue a career in percussion.

I'm currently a professional drummer working in the Long Island area now for 13 years.
I starting playing drums at the age of 13 while playing and studying the trumpet at the same time. I can read drum, trumpet and piano notation.
I started teaching drums in 1996, and enjoy the aspect of enlightening my students to the amazing world of drumming.
My lessons are broken down with a focus on the basics, which includes rudiments, reading, assisting in school band study. While also keeping the student engaged with applying these skills in compliment with music they enjoy listening too on a daily basis.
My lessons for students will include what it takes to become a working drummer both on a local level and professional level.
I hold degree in Business Management and have studied drums with famous drummers like Bobby Rondinelli, Frank Marino as well as local teachers such as Gary Worrell and Jerry Ricci.

I began my musical journey at the tender age of four and see no end in sight! Though I may only be 20, I already have years of performing and professional experience under my belt. I have performed on drums for all kinds of groups and acts, from small jazz combos, to singer/songwriters, to heavy metal bands. I have played and gigged on percussion in classical ensembles, concert bands, percussion ensembles, and for musical theater productions. I have also performed extensively with groups on both guitar and keyboards. I have been lucky enough to share the stage with many great musicians including Tom Chapin and the Chapin Sisters, Erik Lawrence (Levon Helm Band), Larry Mckenna, and Peter Brendler.

I started playing the drumset at age 12, and have been playing for 20 years, and teaching for 5 years. My drum playing covers many different styles including Rock, Jazz, Funk, Punk, and my favorite, Progressive Rock. Soon after I started playing drums, I played in my high school jazz band, orchestra, and marching band. I have been playing ever since and still love it 'til this day.

Roland R was born and raised in New York City. He started playing drums at the ripe age of 12. Throughout his schooling, Roland was a member of Concert Bands, Jazz Bands, and Drum Corps. He eventually started to explore playing music outside of school with friends and independent musicians around New York City. Roland's teaching "career" started about 7 years ago, when his baby cousins took an interest in banging on pots and pans with wooden spoons.
