Thanks for checking out my profile. I look forward to helping you reach your musical goals in drum and percussion! Here's a little info about my musical training: Born in Istanbul, Turkey and raised in Tulsa, OK, my first musical experiences were on my grandmother's old piano. I was later introduced to a drum set when my brother and I received a drum set as a gift. I played in several local bands and in my high school jazz band in Tulsa, playing a range of musical styles from rock, swing, funk, and Latin. I decided in my senior year of high school to take music seriously and moved to NYC to study at the Drummer's Collective. During this period, I also focused on Middle Eastern hand percussion (doumbek, riq, and frame drum) and studied with Mehmet Akatay in Turkey. After ...
To learn how to play the drums is not just learning how to play a beat or a groove, maybe even a song or a solo. Its learning self discipline and self sacrifice. Its learning how to breathe, how to become calm, and let go. It’s learning how your body was naturally designed to move. Its learning how to put all of yourself into something. It’s learning that the best things are learned slowly and mindfully. It’s learning that your mind and body are malleable clay, and you are the sculptor. And most importantly it’s learning that you are a powerful co-creator of your life and your destiny, and that whatever you dedicate yourself to, the universe will gladly remove all the seemingly impossible obstacles that stand in your way.

I am a very laid back person, but I have a lot of passion for music and drumming. I am very excited to continue teaching and guide students into finding the unique artist within themselves. *** Lesson Details *** Every student has different ways of learning at which they excel. I have played and studied drums as a secondary instrument for quiet sometime. I have had some accomplished drum students.
I teach all the basic rudiments and have a strong focus on learning beats by ear. I like to teach my drum students to read and do rolls with a strong concentration on the snare drum.
Teaching music is my passion, it is more than just a career. I value each student and the time I have with them; helping them to explore the world of music. Hopefully after each lesson, my students walk away with a deeper understanding of music theory and have enjoyed their time. I am available to teach Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Classical Guitar, Bass, Upright Bass, Banjo, Ukulele, Mandolin, and beginner Drums. I am a husband and father. I teach all age ranges. *** Lesson Details *** I approach each lesson differently because every student is unique. I utilize the metronome, rudiments, ear training, groove, fills, interdependence, soloing and more into my lessons. My goal is to help you reach yours in music.
