About Me
Hello,
Thanks so much for taking the time to inquire about studying music with me.
Music and studying music has always been a passionate experience for me. I have been so blessed with the teachers and fellow musicians in my life. You should realize that your study of music may start with me, but it will last your entire lifetime. I hope that all of your life you will have a rewarding relationship to music and the spirit of great sounds!
I'm originally from California. I have performances degrees from the Grove School, as well as San Diego State University.
I currently reside in New York City where I get the chance to play with some many great musicians. I have performed in great jazz clubs in New York, on Broadway, and performing arts centers across the country. I'm currently playing in many great performing ensembles. I have put out two CD's as a leader and played on multiple CD's for other artists.
It has been my pleasure to teach privately, as well as in the...

Debralee D, Feedback & Thanks
I was so happy to find John through Take Lessons. John is a patient, nurturing and skilled instructor. Although it has only been 3 lessons, his teaching method is definitely conducive to my learning style. I really enjoyed learning the basics of the ukulele especially with his accompaniment on his electric guitar. As a teacher he invites the student to a duet of learning - it makes learning a new instrument exciting and not intimidating or daunting. Our lessons are organic and super chill - like a fun jam session integrating technique and musicality. His affirmation on my progress has helped me gain confidence in how I continue to learn the ukulele.
John creates an easy-going atmosphere in our lesson and it definitely relieves any stress or pressure I may put on myself as a student. He's knowledgeable and enthusiastic about music and I have enjoyed learning from him.
I plan to continue lessons with John when my work schedule is more consistent.
Thanks so much for a great start on the uke John!
Warm regards,
