Hi. My name is Allison. I am an accomplished musician who plays many instruments some of which include guitar, flute, saxophone, bass guitar and my favorite, piano. I have been playing the piano for almost twenty five years. I started playing piano when I was five years old. One of my passions in life is to share the gift of music with others. I began teaching local neighborhood children about five years ago while I was finishing up my fine arts degree in music. Since graduating, I have been teaching children and adults in the Minneapolis west metro area going on four years. My experience includes playing at private parties, weddings and corporate venues. I also enjoy donating my music and time as a silent auction item for organizations and charities that raise money for local people in need.

I first became interested in studying and playing music because of one simple reason - it's fun. I have been teaching for over 8 years and my unique versatility as an educator has given me the experience I need to be successful. I am an Orff-Schulwerk trained teacher, whose philosophy is based on things children like to do: sing, chant rhymes, clap, dance, and keep a beat on anything near at hand in a non-competitive atmosphere where one of the rewards is the pleasure of making good music with others. I have an outstanding rapport with children in the classroom and in one-on-one instruction. I am also a leader and a performer whether I am conducting songs at the all-school assemblies, singing in the community choir, or playing rock music in a club. In addition to the many creative projects outside of work, I am an active board member of my local Orff-Schulwerk chapter which promotes a network of music educators.

My name is Beau. The bass guitar is a great passion of mine and I am excited to share my knowledge and experience with others. I am eager to teach as well as continue my own personal journey as a musician. Initially self-taught, I attended McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN where I earned a degree in Bass Performance studying under Terry Burns, Gary Raynor, Jay Young, Jeff Bailey, and Charles Fletcher.

I have been performing professionally in various original and cover/variety/wedding bands for over 6 years. I also have extensive studio performance experience constructing and recording bass lines of many different styles.

I am the weekly bass player for the contemporary and traditional worship services at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, and have also played bass in musical productions of Footloose and Godspell. People know me for being passionate, energetic, patient, and friendly.

A love of music began in the third grade. I started on a silver metal clarinet and have not stopped playing. I am a musician, composer, arranger and performer. I hold a B.A. in music and have taught in the schools for 22 years. I bring extensive knowledge and humor to my teaching. I enjoy working with all age levels and pride myself on being intensely positive.

Hey! My name is Sheena and I have been teaching lessons for about 6 years. I went to St Cloud State University for 2 years for music education, with saxophone being my major instrument. Now I am currently a student at Mcnally Smith College of Music for my Bachelors in Guitar Performance. I have been playing guitar for about 10 years now and have played shows all around the Twin Cities area. I can also play quite a few other instruments.
I am experienced in recording, composing and producing and have been on a few different albums playing guitar.
I am experienced in the music field which I believe is important to be as a teacher. In my lessons it will be very laid back but productive at the same time. I will find a way of teaching that is best for the student and will help them achieve their goals of playing. Lessons will be fun and practicing will not feel like homework!

I began taking piano lessons on a whim in middle school, but it didn't take long before I realized I was completely in love with music. I enjoy playing and teaching many types of music, from classical to rock to hymns and church music. I learned to play by ear at the same time I learned to sight read, and both approaches have helped me to learn and enjoy the music I play.

I graduated last December with a BA in Music Performance from North Central University, here in the Twin Cities. I have been teaching piano lessons for the last 4 years, as well as directing a children's choir. Watching other people learn to play music is one of the greatest rewards I've received.

As I child I had an early interest in music, dancing and creative things. I took piano lessons and excelled at my chosen instrument, the flute, in band at school. I continued with my music training at Northwestern College in Roseville, Minnesota and graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Music Education in 1992. I worked for 11 years in my profession in various settings before I took a break to start my family. My experience includes teaching students in classroom general music, choir, band, piano lessons, and school plays/musicals. I spent six years at a private school (grades K-8), three years at a charter elementary school and 2 years at a public elementary school. Also, since graduating in 1992 I have spent a total of 13 years teaching private lessons both at Hovland Conservatory of Music and in my home. Along the way I further broadened my background by accompanying church choirs and congregations, playing for weddings, and volunteering to lead children’s music...
