Cliff started his musical career as a young boy, taking classical piano lessons from the age of 4 until the age of 12. Discouraged by the strict format of his musical education, he picked up the guitar, and vowed never to take another music lesson. However, upon entering college, Cliff enrolled in drum lessons on a whim, and he has never looked back.

After discovering this new found love for music, Cliff earned not only a degree in English, but also a BA in Music from Santa Clara University, with a concentration in both guitar and drums. While this exposed Cliff to a strong classical background that included piano proficiency, conducting, and sight-singing, he also continued to foster a love for rock, funk, blues, and other popular music. As a result, Cliff has given performances in a variety of contexts -- including jazz, classical, and popular music. Rob (aka R.J.): Born in Detroit, Michigan, RJ studied r&b and jazz from Motown drummers and Funk Brothers Benny Benjamin and Uriel Jones. From the age of fifteen he played in rhythm & blues and jazz combos around Detroit. He then studied privately with Berklee School of Music drum maestro, Gene Stuart,studied with mallet studies with Mark Johnson and earned a Bachelors Degree from Michigan State University, moved to San Francisco and studied North Indian percussion and tabla with Zakir Hussain, trap set with jazz recording artists George Marsh. He is a consummate producer, performer, recording artist and teacher. He plays and teaches all styles of rhythm including jazz, funk, blues, rock, latin, and world fusion. I believe sincerely that part of the responsibility of being a professional musician is passing on the knowledge that you have acquired to the next generation of performers, and it also happens to be something I enjoy! Luckily so did my teachers, and I have always felt deeply indebted to them for teaching me. I have 15 years experience teaching and playing drums and latin percussion (congas, timbales, bongo) in the San Francisco Bay Area, and in my career as a performer I have played with everyone from Slash (rock), Donna Summer (RnB), to Jesus Diaz (salsa). I have studied classical and jazz percussion at the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music and the esteemed Manhattan School of Music, as well as an extensive tutorial en Cuba, where I studied latin percussion at the national school of art. I hope I have an opportunity to share what I know with you!

I love music and I love to teach! This is what I do and I bring that experience into every lesson. Both my parents are musicians(drummer and singer respectively) so growing up I was always around music. Besides teaching I have 8 years of touring and recording experience and I actively play out in the bay area. I have been playing with classical ensembles and rock bands since 2001. Even though I started on classical trombone and rock guitar, I have come to expand my repertoire to a variety of instruments and genres. During my time in college I performed with the University choir, orchestra, and band. I also have organized, composed and arranged for, and performed with a variety of bands in my home state of New Mexico, as well as Japan and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Since 2006 I have been an active teacher. This profession has taken me everywhere from working with classical guitar classes in New Mexico high schools to Elementary students in Japan to a variety of private students of various musical instruments and genres everywhere I've been. Since settling in the Bay in 2010, I've had the pleasure of working with lots of great students from kids to adults with a wide range of ambitions.

I have been in many performing groups, from rock to metal to folk to jazz. I have background in original composition; I sing backup vocals and have experience with production. My name is Sean W. and I've been a multi instrumentalist for 23 years! I've performed opera as a soprano, Rock, funk, punk, metal, and Jazz on guitar, bass, and drum-kit. I find being able to accompany my students on other instruments to be an indispensable tool.
