Daniel , percussionist, performs newly commissioned works and standard repetoire in concerts throughout the United States. In 2002 he was the winner of the San Diego Symphony's "Hot Shots" Competition where he was featured as a soloist performing Paul Creston's "Concertino for Marimba". In 2003 he won the UC Davis Summerarts Festival Soloist Competition where he received a full scholarship and performed a solo concert of new and commissioned music at the famous Mondavi Center. In 2008 he was named the winner of the University of Massachusetts Concerto Competition where he performed Keiko Abe's "Prism Rhapsody for Marimba". Most recently he was awarded third place in the International Jefferson Symphony Young Artists Competition where he performed a solo concert at the Denver Metropolitan University.

In 2007, he received his Masters Degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst where he studied with Eduardo Leandro and DCI Hall of Fame...

I have a good mixture of formal education and work experience. This makes it easy for me to pass on the healthy techniques and also be current on what to expect in an audition or creating a successful performance. I attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy with focus on Musical Theatre. I also studied at Glendale College and performed in their choir and jazz ensemble. I have received 10 years of private voice instruction with many wonderful teachers hailing from USIU, UCLA, and Pepperdine University. I have been a professional singer and musical theatre performer for 14 years, and have performed all over southern california. I began playing guitar and drums at 13 and quickly began to play live. As a drummer I have studied privately in NYC with Bernard Purdie , (Aretha Franklin/King Curtis/Over 100 Billboard Hits), and at The South Shore Conservatory of Music in the Boston area. Playing drums has taken me all over USA, Europe and Canada . Recording and songwriting on guitar has always been in my blood. I have played on over 10 full length albums and written over 100 songs, several of which have been licensed to television, movies and performed by other artists. I consider myself an all around performer with my forte being a drummer. I stand In contrast to your average teacher who has garnered a degree and moved straight to teaching without ever really tasting the life of a touring musician. Now that I am a father of three girls I have chosen to stay local to the San Diego area where I continue to play live and write songs.

I am a 1991 graduate of Tallinn Conservatory in Tallinn, Estonia, where I studied music education, child psychology, choir conducting and voice. While a student, I gained experience as a choir conductor-associate and concert administrator for Tallinn Philharmonic Society. I managed music festivals of all kind and local and foreign musicians.

I arrived in San Francisco in 1992 for the Estonian Mixed Choir. I conducted the choir and was an accordionist for Estonian folk dancers until 1995. I enjoyed playing the accordion with ALSI (Accordion Lovers Society International) Ensemble in San Diego (also produced a CD recording with them).
I give private instruction in piano, accordion and choir conducting.
I also sing and have produced recordings with several classical vocal groups in San Diego: Cappella Gloriana, Bach Collegium San Diego and ad hoc hire. In the past I've sang with San Diego Chamber Chorale, Pacific Camerata and Madonna Non Papa.

Jill graduated from SDSU in 2010 with a Bachelor's of Music degree in Vocal Performance. She has been studying voice for 10 years now, and also grew up playing violin, viola, and piano since age 8. Jill currently maintains a multi-faceted career as a classically-trained soprano soloist, choir director, and private music instructor. She hopes to achieve a Masterʼs degree in Speech Pathology within the next few years, and has a passionate and serious commitment to teach healthy singing and piano technique to students of all ages!

After graduating from Salford University, England with a Bachelors degree (Honors) in Music and Composing I worked for a short time as a commercial "jingle" writer, before moving to San Diego, marrying my dream girl, and opening my own music recording, teaching and production studio. From there I have been teaching lessons, recording bands and writing music for independent film ad video games for the last 6 years. Throughout this time I've been continually performing live in venues all over California.

I first sat behind the drumset back when I was in middle school and suddenly, life had made sense and it was through rhythm that I defined myself. My obsession led me to a broad musical expansion in High School where I became strongly involved in the music programs there. Marching drumline, indoor drumline, symphonic, orchestral, concert and jazz ensemble filled my life with love and purpose. Some of my defining moments from those days were my involvement with the collegiate district honor band, coming in 3rd place for indoor drumline in all of Southern California, and being awarded the jazz soloist award for drumming excellence at the Cuyamaca jazz festival. After graduating I joined up with DCI group "The Velvet Knights Drum and Bugle Corp" and became the Tenor Section leader.
Now, Being a student in college, I have taken a multitude of music courses including, Jazz Improv, Afro-Cuban, Piano, Modern Drumset Technique, and Music...

Teacher of guitar specializing in the classical and flamenco guitar techniques. These techniques can be applied to other styles of guitar playing like jazz, blues and rock music. I will assess the students level of play and provide further instruction. A student will be able to play up to 4 songs in 3 to 6 months. The songs will be chosen by the teacher according to the students level of play and can be in varied styles of classical , blues, flamenco, latin or jazz. The lessons will also include sight reading,guitar technique, music theory and playing by ear. I have 30 years of experience teaching such students. I am teaching all age groups and levels, and have a musical degree. My personality is easy going and my student’s progress is priority.

Hi! My name is David and I play drums and percussion. I am a working performer and instructor. After receiving my Bachelors degree from Berklee College of Music in Boston, M.A. I moved back to southern California. I am now teaching as well as performing and recording with multiple acts between San Diego and Los Angeles. Aside from playing and teaching drums, I love to surf, go to the beach, and go to concerts.

I started taking music lessons at the age of 9. It began playing in the church and then I taught lessons in my home at the age of 16. I went on to attend and graduate from Christian Heritage College (now called San Diego Christian College) with a Bachelors Degree in Music and Business. I am now the Director of the Music Department at San Diego Young Artists Music Academy. I direct two youth and children choirs, a male chorus and a great adult choir. I also sing with the Voices of Prayze who travel with Jason Mraz from time to time. As a singer, pianist and as a teacher, I specialize in Gospel piano & vocal technique and repertoire. I also have a great deal of experience in Pop, R&B, and Classical so I am able to help students excel in these genres as well.
